Bought a Southern Motion Style 757-78P “Safe Bet” leather reclining loveseat with power/console on 3/11/22. Within a few months one side began to break down in the seat. We contacted the retailer who agreed to replace it with a new loveseat. Now the replacement has begun breaking down too. It’s like the foam cushioning has shifted and/or compacted down in the seat and console area. Very uncomfortable! We bought Southern Motion based on their previous reputation for quality workmanship but that’s apparently gone now.Review from Lauren F

I have a Southern Motion recliner, and have been very happy with it! I was hesitant to purchased based on other reviews, but I'm glad I did. I have had it for 12 months now and it's not showing wear at all!Review from Jerry S

I agree with the rest of these reviews. Paid over $5,000 for a couch, loveseat, and recliner. Terribly uncomfortable as the head pillow tilts your neck forward. Arm rests was pullling apart and one of the sides had a broken support. Finally got the warranty company to repair but it's like jumping through hoops to get anything done through them. I just hope I can sell it soon so we can start over.Review from Josh J

The warranty claim service is always unavailable. It's only possible to file a warranty claim online but the site doesn't accept the required uploaded copies of the receipt. It simply grays them out as an acceptable upload. So you can't even file a warranty claim. I called the 800 number and they said it will take 72 hours before someone replies to an online warranty claim ut its been a full week and no response. This company promises warranty claims but make no mistake, there isn't any at all.Review from Rhonda M

Please stay away from this furniture. I spent decent money thinking I was getting good quality furniture, and in less than a month time, you could clearly see wear in the leather and the cushioning. The store that I purchased it from did send someone out to look at it and write a report and that’s been two weeks ago and still waiting to hear from Southern motion. In the meantime, it is just wearing more every day it’s horrible. So basically don’t expect any compensation in return for poor quality because apparently that’s not happening. The furniture store will not do it. They are waiting to hear from Southern motion. I want to get rid of the furniture, but until something is settled I can’t even do that. There is absolutely no way this furniture will last even a year. I think everyone should get together and file a suit against this company apparently from the reviews I am not the only one that has had this issue and still they are in business.Review from Jeffrey F

Buyers be aware if you are looking for a good quality leather reclining sofa look elsewhere. The leather is just top dyed . It discolored after a few years and just the dyes from my shirts discolored the leather . I wish I had never purchased this product. Some reviews here are giving you the truth it is junk.Review from JOHN G

We got 2 double reclining couch, a wedge, and a rocker recliner,, it was delivered 12/21. We ordered leather because of being able to clean it easily if something was spilled on it ( we have 2 young kids and 2 dogs) we paid over 7 grand and it's coming apart it is peeling at the seams. It was comfortable the first couple of months now its not just total junk.Review from Linda P

On 11-28-2020 I purchased (2) reclining sofas and (1) rocker/recliner paying almost $6,000.00 from online-Delivered on 3-8-2021. I also purchased an insurance policy (PB 5 yr 30 day.) Immediately after unwrapping, the whole house had an overpowering chemical smell that lasted for 3 months! As we had no other furniture, I did not try to return but had to keep cross ventilation in our house and close the bedroom door at night due to the saturation of chemicals (I even called the EPA-nothing they could do.) However, on 4-7-21 I contacted SM via messaging-no response. On 4-11-21 we experienced issues with the button on the rocker recliner. New one sent & husband installed. Soon the seat cushions and back cushion started being non-supportive giving way and sagging. Additionally, the foot/leg rest cotton batting on the sofas/rocker slipped down in the front which did not allow my legs to touch the floor. When ordering this furniture, I carefully viewed all the measurements from the floor to the top of the seat, from the floor to the top of the arm rest, and front the front of the seat to the cushion back. On 11-11-22 I contacted H about the seat having bad cracks from the back of the cushion to the front on the inside of the box cushion. I believe this was a faux leather item, the seat/back were to have been leather. The leather on the rocker/recliner has become (ordered Chianti) discolored. On 2/2/2023, I filled out an online form for someone to contact me regarding brittle/cracked sofa seat. Message said some would contact me within 24-48 hours-no response. On 2-18-23, I again sent message to warranty company, messaged retailer and manufacturer filled out the form but could not send message for whatever reason. On 2/24/2023 I filled out claims for the sofas/rocker recliner-response waiting for review. On 5/10/2023 when I again checked they stated that all claims were denied. (Their online claim form is difficult to complete.) DON'T BUY!!!! ZERO STARReview from Maggie F

Paid a lot for a reclining couch and love seat. Has barely been a year and seams are tearing, cushions are lumpy and sagging and arm rests are caving. Only 1 year warranty so it will cost me hundreds to fix. This set weights a ton, but I am being told I can bring them in for repair or pay to have them picked up...when its all done up to $500 out of pocket. I have never paid so much for furniture and had so many issues. Very poor quality.Review from Dean B

We purchased two Southern Motion power reclining sofas and were finally delivered May of 2022. We were told at ********** that these were their top of the line couches. We paid plenty for these couches. We have a summer cottage and only home during the week last summer and fall. Kids are moved out of house and no animals. It was less than 6 months and both couches started to break down. The frames were bent, the padding was sat down and sagging after minimal use and head rest now working. This furniture is junk. We have nearly 10 claims in on this furniture to repair everthing that keeps breaking. So far all the frame mechanisms had to be changed out becasue they just bend. The padding needs to be changed in all the sitting areas on the couches. The back clips need to be changed. The interior boards just fall apart because of poor craftsmanship. *********** won't talk to us and said call warranty company. We wanted new couches and they said we will have a higher up call you but no call. Sale was completed and they don't care either. I have a feeling once these parts are changed, it will continue to go bad and we are stuck with $4000 worth of junk and only owned for one year. Our last living room set lasted 10 years. Very disapointed in this furniture. No way to contact them other than warranty claims.
