According to information in BBB files, this company has a pattern of complaint concerning customers being charged for an annual subscription and not being able to obtain a refund, when requested. Consumers allege misleading terms and conditions and purchasing details are confusing to consumers because the customer is being charged for an annual subscription in full, not monthly. Complainants state they encounter difficulty when attempting to contact the business to make cancellation/refund requests. The complaints are all of the same nature.
On April 19, 2023 Better Business Bureau submitted a written request to U. S. Legal Services, Inc. encouraging them to address the pattern of complaint. BBB enclosed an Agreement to Eliminate a Pattern of Complaint form for the company to sign and return hoping to assist in finding ways to address the customers' concerns. U. S. Legal Services, Inc. has yet to respond to our request giving a plan of action to eliminate this pattern. BBB will continue to monitor this company's efforts. This aspect of the Business profile will be updated should additional information become available.
On August 01, 2023, U. S. Legal Services, Inc. responded to BBB, and provided the following statement to address the pattern of customer complaint:
"How much do subscriptions to U.S. Legal Forms Cost: There are four options.
Basic: $8.00 per month paid annually. "Please note the switch at the top of the pricing." It is set to annual but the price is shown as $8.00 per month. Since it is annual it would cost $96.00.
Premium: $15.00 per month paid annual. Total $180.00 paid annual.
Basic by Month: $39.00 per month. Not paid annual. Paid monthly.
Premium by month: $59.00 per month. Not paid annual. Paid monthly.
