I was contacted by a contractor from Aspen after our area had a couple severe hail storms on 5/9/22. Everyone else in the neighborhood was getting roofs replaced due to the amount of damage. This contractor guaranteed he would be able to get me a new roof also, but had to sign a paper saying I would use their company to complete the work if insurance approved. Turning the paper work into the insurance company they completed an inspection and approved $538.71 which I then tried to reach out to the contractor who would not give me an estimate for the work but instead reply "You should be getting two checks the first one you give to me and we do your roof and when everyone is happy they send you a second check that goes to me as well along with your deductible. We do the roof for what your insurance allows." I explained to the contractor the insurance only gave $538.71 and after repairs the second check would only be an additional $18.60. The contractor then came to my house to see the paper work because he didnt believe me on 6/13. The contractor said his company will submit a dispute on my behalf with the insurance company. Then 6/24 I received a text from the contractor telling me I have to call the insurance company again to dispute, but then 6/28 get another text saying do not call the insurance company because his corporate office wants to handle it. 8/15 I receive an email from the contractor who said I again need to submit/dispute with the insurance company. He emailed photos and the costs for Aspen Exteriors to do the repairs. 10/4 I was approved for a 2nd inspection which was set for 10/7. 10/14 I was told insurance approved a larger amount. I sent it to the contractor who said would be in contact in a couple days. 11 days later 10/25 i'm told he has been out of contact with the company for the most part for medical but someone will pick up the money (before even setting up any work?). I called and left a message for the company yet to hear back.
