If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the absolute worst business experience I've ever had. ***** seemed so genuine and nice when I met her making so many promises for me to meet high quality people. I got signed up and on my way for a very high price - ridiculously high, but I thought that price meant others in the pool would be high quality. Boy, was I wrong. I have never felt more demeaned and demoralized by a dating process than this. The database of potential matches is abysmal at best. I have spent hours and hours culling through the awful choices, which remain the same for weeks. Most members are either inactive or do not live in the state. I have reached out at least three times to member services and was confronted with ***** calling me back with her same high pressure tactics and then NO RESPONSE whatsoever the following times. I have not even had the whisper of suggestion of a date with a single person in three months of being on here, and I am an attractive and successful professional woman. I suppose if I was a marathon runner who was Christian I might have luck, but otherwise, you're better off going on Tinder!!! Save yourself time, money, and self-esteem and DO NOT DO THIS!!!

You have selected 27 people so it does look like you are finding quite a few people that you would like to date and 3 of those have already responded yes! You have also been selected by 2 men, and you said yes to both of those. In the three months that you have been a member, you have already met 5 men. Well I just signed up. Been a few weeks now. Yes it is expensive but I got 1/2 off price. I needed help with finding someone. And with the pricing , I believe it those who are really looking for quality people. They are very nice! And if you have mental or lots of health issues I wouldn't recommend it here. Find other sources. It's been a positive experience for me. ! Getting results already.Review from Peter K

DO NOT SIGNUP FOR MINNEAPOLIS SINGLES!!! It claims to be in the relationship business, but cares nothing for clients it swindles. I was taken in by the smooth talk and predatory sales tactics. Under ordinary circumstances, I might have let this rip-off go, but they preyed on a vulnerability I share with tens of thousands of Minnesotans. As an advocate for the rights of people with rare diseases and other disabilities that make them easy prey to unethical business practices, I must warn the public about this company. I have two incurable, neurodegenerative rare diseases--Narcolepsy Type II and REM Behavior Disorder--both recognized by federal and state law. During the intake interview, I clearly described the impact of these conditions on my cognitive functioning and relationship skills. Also noted that narcolepsy has been called the "most underrated mental health killer." I explained all this in great detail because it places narrow limits on my ability to participate in the ordinary activities most people seek to enjoy in their relationships--going to the beach, for example, since I can't tolerate heat above 75 degrees. I can only drive short distances; the risk of falling asleep at the wheel is too high. In addition to these conditions, I also explained that I was experiencing severe financial difficulties and was struggling to pay off over $50,000 in credit card debt. I CLEARLY AND FIRMLY STATED: "I have a policy of not making decisions involving substantial sums of money on the spot, but need days to consider." This is where the conversation should have ended!! Her continued badgering of me to sign triggered a sleep attack that made it impossible for me to think clearly or maintain my policy. She subsequently gave me a list of names that she considered "great prospects." Here the bait and switch was starkly revealed: None of the women remotely fit the profile I had so meticulously described! I have felt the same about this site as the others have with one star. I felt ripped off with nothing to show for it. I’ve been scammed out of my life savings, and now I feel I’m being scammed by this company. I didn’t like my pictures and was told I have to pay to retake them. I haven’t had one date since I joined. I did have one person want to go out with me but he was in his 70’s and I was much younger. No thank you. The whole thing is very high pressure sales pitch and I felt I couldn’t leave the office without signing and give away a lot money. I’m so tired of these kinds of companies. I didn’t like my profile and either. Every once in a while, I went on the site but it was always the same people listed.Minneapolis Singles Response

You have made many selections, so clearly you found gentlemen in our database that you are interested in. Minneapolis Singles has never charged for picture retakes, nor do we have any request from you asking to do so. We update photos at no charge. I am a new member and I am very pleased so far with Minneapolis Singles. The staff has all worked there for over 20+ years and they really seem to care about their clients. They had match suggestions for me by the time I came in to take my professional photos. I have attended a couple events in the past month and had a great time. This experience has made me optimistic about dating for the first time in many years.Review from Be K

Hardcore sales pitch and outrageous price for a horrible selection of clients. Some of the clients are outdated and never respond. The majority of clients are old and unhealthy looking. They mislead customers by indicating the dating pool is huge with potential suitors in NY or Chicago. But those people do not travel to MN to date, that is a lie. If they actually took out all of the out of state clients, their client pool would be very very small. I was swindled out of a lot of money for this service where I cannot even find a suitable match to reach out to.Minneapolis Singles Response

We are sincerely sorry to read this and that ************* feels this way. She is a brand new member, less than 2 months and already has several mutual responses of gentlemen that she wanted to meet, so we are confused by this complaint. We have hundreds of men in her age group, just in the this local database. It is only optional to meet members from other locations, as some clients really love that opportunity. We are here to help ************** in any way possible and will reach out again to do some more personalized matchmaking. Terrible, misled, Way over priced for getting nothing in return. There was absolutely no eligible bachelors in my area. I would’ve had to drive more than an hour and a half to see anybody. And they did not match the criteria that I was looking for. Was told there were plenty of eligible gentleman that I was looking for in the beginning, before I paid an exhorbitant amount, and that’s not even true. I have tried several times to cancel, and they will not let me cancel. I am very upset.Review from Paula L

trying to decide whether the high price is worth it fortunately credit card rejection has given me a week to decide interesting comoments here laura was very nice although a bit of high pressure sales even talking to my daughter to try to get her agreement is this any better than match? i trust my own instincts rather than needing back ground checks. they should really focus a bit on politics in these contentious timesMinneapolis Singles Response

I am sorry you feel this way we do not practice high-pressure sales as it is an informative consultation in which the client gets to decide if this program is a good fit for them. In this consultation, I did have a conversation with his daughter ***** to get her approval/advice for her father and wanted him to make a decision that works best for him and to think about the program and make the best decision for himself as to join or not join our program. We take pride in doing criminal background checks on our members for the safety and reassurance of our members and to have a safe database for our members to utilize. If any of our members have strong political views they will usually disclose that in their personal member profile that they provide. We want to let ***** know to take all the time he needs to make a decision to join or not join our program. We ask that he call his member representative with any further questions or comments. We at MPLS Singles take pride in helping and assisting any of our members and future members and answering any/all of their questions and concerns.Review from Jean T

I had a great experience with the staff at Minneapolis Singles. They explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. It's great that they actually screen the members and take pictures of them so I know I'm looking at real people. I prefer this over the experiences I've had with dating apps.
