    I purchased a vehicle from this business 12/1/2022. I paid $15000 for the vehicle and another $2500 for what I was told was a "full power-train warranty". Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I was having issues with it. I brought it in and was told that they replaced the CV shaft/axel. Not a week later, the vehicle had catastrophic transmission failure due to the hanger bearing and transfer case breaking/cracking. This seems to have happened because the CV shaft/axel was not fixed correctly, causing the vibrations needed to break the bearing and transfer case. The vehicle was in their shop the first week of February and stopped working February 10th. When I had the vehicle towed to a dealership near me to get fixed, I thought everything would be covered under the warranty. Much to my surprise, the $2500 warranty only covers $2500 of the transmission.I have tried to speak with someone in management at Maplewood Auto Mall since the date of the transmission failure, but to date I have been told that someone would call me back (which they never do). I feel I have been very patient with them, I just want them to fix the vehicle as it was their mechanic who caused the damage. I am also wondering why they would sell me a "full power-train warranty", when it clearly is not. I cannot afford an $8000 repair, let alone paying for the car loan and insurance when I am unable to drive the vehicle. I would appreciate any and all help to resolve this matter.After reading the multiple reviews about this business, I regret going to them in the first place.     I have purchased a 2015 Jeep Cherokee at Maplewood Auto Mall 3 months ago. One day the vehicle did not engage the transmission so, I had it towed to Maplewood Auto Mall to have it fixed. One week later, Shawn called me saying, their mechanic could not resolve the issue, not from lack of trying. So, Shawn had it towed to a Chrysler dealership who he said, has a better knowledge of the vehicle. A Chrysler service advisor, Nate, calls me and asks if I had attempted to fix the issue myself. I told him, absolutely no I did not. Nate assured me that who attempted to fix the issue had little or no experience on working on vehicles. He continued to explain to me that it was an electrical issue in the wiring harness located on top of the transmission. Nate explained what their mechanic discovered, the wiring harness had basic electrical tape (electrical tape you can buy at any hardware store) wrapped around the harness. As the mechanic removed the tape, he found that the factory wrap/tape to be cut and one wire cut in half, which was the park solenoid circuit. Nate, told me the actual and proper way to reconnect a wire and that any ASE Certified Mechanic knows is to Solder and use proper factory electrical wrap/tape. The basic electrical tape you can buy at any hardware store is a temporary use and the tape will eventually come apart. Needless to say but, I will say it anyways, in my opinion, Maplewood Auto Mall employ’s a backyard mechanic and not even a good one. I have learned my lesson and will from now on do my research before visiting another used car dealership or any establishment at that matter.
