My husband and I have a lease agreement with The Jander Group, Inc. for the house we currently rent- located at *** ****** ***** Cordova, TN XXXXX. In the lease agreement signed/dated by my husband and I there is no early termination clause or any mention that the lease CANNOT be broken, however, Jander Group is not letting us terminate the lease early without paying out the entire lease (which expires 4/30/2022). We asked for anything from the company that plainly states or even suggests we cannot terminate early, besides the lease saying we signed for 21 months. We signed for an additional 21 months when our last lease was up in April but because circumstances have changed we put in a 60 day notice (effective 11/1/2021). Jander Group, Inc. is saying they acknowledge the notice but we're still responsible for the entire lease term of 21 months. The 60 day notice would make our last day 12/31/2021, but they are not letting us out the lease even though the contact doesn't say we cannot or list a penalty for doing so. We'd like to be out of the rental house, it cleaned, and keys returned by 12/31/2021 because the lease does not say we cannot, they've only said it VIA e-mail, which they're not allowed to make things up as they go when it's suiting for them. We also asked for a copy of the newest lease we signed this year, they have not provided but attached is the first one, signed in 2019.
