Vancouver, B.C. – Better Business Bureau Serving Mainland BC is proudly holding its 75th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 20th. Since 1939 BBB has been an integral part of British Columbia promoting transparency between local businesses and consumers to help inspire an atmosphere of trust in the marketplace.

“We are very proud of what BBB is and stands for and proud of the people and businesses associated with us,” says Danielle Primrose, President of BBB serving Mainland B.C. “What I find amazing is that while we celebrate 75 years of annual general meetings and organizational growth, there are several British Columbia business who have been with us for the same length of time.”

This year’s AGM takes place in a location that is decidedly West Coast and the guest speaker is one of the best known athletes in the province. BBB serving Mainland B.C. is proud to announce former BC Lions Receiver Geroy Simon will bring his insights on leadership, team building and community engagement to the UBC Boathouse along the mighty Fraser River. Simon returned to the Leos earlier this year to take on a role in the front office after wrapping up his playing career with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders.

“We wanted to do something special for our Accredited Businesses who have been with us for a long time,” adds Primrose. “We will be acknowledging those who have been with us for 25 and 50 years in a beautiful setting along the Fraser River along with a B.C. icon like Simon. He is a true inspiration”

Through the competent direction of Accredited Businesses whose owners comprise the BBB Board of Directors and Governors, the BBB BC family continues to grow. In 2015 BBB B.C. expects the number of B.C. businesses proudly displaying the BBB Torch logo to surpass 4000.

It is not just about gaining more Accredited Businesses and becoming stronger in numbers. BBB BC proudly carriers a business retention rate of almost 90%. A track record like that shows the market that BBB adds value, creates trust and transparency and holds our Accredited Businesses to a higher standard when they deal with their consumers every day. #StartWithTrust

The AGM takes place at UBC Boathouse between 10 am and 3pm.
