Date August 2019, Total job= $11,000, Company: BC Awning & Railing Inc. Telephone 604-521-2688. This company installed an insulated awning 35 ft long, 12 to 20 ft wide over my existing porch. The installation was poorly done, lacked quality workmanship and has constantly leaked since day one. The service rep Pat has come back to fix all the leaks every time it rains since the installation. He uses chalking to seal many long strips of metal on the top of the awning which constantly unglue and leak. He has put in 3 different types of flashing to steer water away from back pouring all over the porch. They installed a small gutter to remove all the rain flow from the entire roof surface, the gutter ALWAYS overflows.They told me the gutter is too shallow but when I asked them before the installation they said the gutter would be able to handle the heavy downpour. I have tried to correct the situation at my own cost $650 by installing a rain chain and a downspouts, it only helped 50%. They said if I pay them $600 they will put in a deeper gutter to handle the rain flow. The quality of workmanship and installation was terrible, they also installed plexi glass around the garage to stop the wind. I had to stop the workers because they couldn't even put metal strips between the glass on straight. They never once cleaned either project when done, I cleaned off all the chalking spills and we cleaned the glass on both the awning and plexi glass when they left. The glass was filthy from handling and chalking sloppiness. The service guy Pat tries to help but every time he is here he is making more of an ugly mess of the awning roof. Now the large insulated panels are delaminating, the metal is warped and bends up and down when pressed. I have a hundred photos of the leaking and a video of the delaminating panels.
