Brief summary - They gave us an estimate of $1800, and after loading all our stuff sent us a final invoice for OVER $8000. - The "empty truck weight" was done at 730am, Dec 8, and they showed up at our place at noon. They initially claimed that using the 730am weight, our stuff weighed 12000lbs (estimated at 3800lbs) -Someone else's belongings were in the truck already when they arrived to load, shown only once they had loaded our stuff. -Eventually showed us a scale receipt from an hour before they arrived at our pick up location where the truck was ALREADY 2000lbs heavier than what they initially claimed. They still charged us for the greater weight -I arranged for, and said I would pay, to re-weigh our belongings before and after unloading, and at a location ON THE WAY in and out of town. They refused, and showed up to unload on Dec 11. -At booking there was an $0.08/lb surcharge because there were stairs/elevator. On the phone they were very clear that it covered loading and unloading. Once they arrive at unloading place - suddenly it doesn't cover unloading and we have to either dump all our boxes in the garage, or pay another $1000. -They don't reassemble "anything with screws". Which they told us only after disassembling our bed. They advertise -They offered a small discount (~ $250), but retracted it when I continued to request re-weighing out belongings. -We paid only because we had to, under duress. -I emailed them almost 2 weeks ago, was told they are busy, and so far no further response. The estimate was grossly inaccurate. off by over 400%. I'm requesting a partial refund of $2462.69 based on weight over-charge, services that we paid for and weren't provided ($0.08/lb), and the discount that was offered and then retracted.
