    Recently I made a fireplace purchase from JC fireplace in Chilliwack. ( September 1st) I was lead to believe that this fireplace was entitled to a ****** rebate, and JC fireplace did give me an application form to fill out, which I did. I received a phone call from ****** informing me that this fireplace did not meet the ****** rebate program. I did contact JC but all I got was denial from their estimater. I really don't know why they told me there was a rebate, when there was none, and why did they give me an application form.

    Like wow! I get a New ***** HVAC Furnace installed and end up with Major Air/heating loss at Cabinet. And when I complain the Rep that came out starts yelling at me that they would not have installed Furnace if I was going to complain. Now new High efficiency Furnaces are not supposed have any air loss at Cabinet. I had personally gone into the office a couple of times where the have Carrier Furnace on display. This furnace did have some air loss at Cabinet which it should have not. But on my last visit they had lifted the Carrie/display furnace a couple of inches off mounting in order to leak lots of air. Also when initial installation was done the installer changed *****'s furnace setting to burn cooler (what manufacture no not what their Furnace temps should be set up at?) The installer also told me that the fresh air vent need not be sealed up as the Hot water tank needed vent! Excuse me but the Furnace Fresh Air Vent has nothing to do with the Hot water tank vent as it has it's own vent! Bottom line avoid this company as I had to call ***** directly to have matter resolved and to this day the furnace is still not performing as it should!

    As this review came to the wrong e-mail address it has taken longer to respond. I have spoken with the employees involved in your furnace replacement. We made two subsequent visits to seal the cabinet and the cabinet to the floor to satisfy your concerns about the air leakage. You paid the balance owing on the job saying you were satisfied. We did not charge any extra for visits for the sealing. Our show room furnace was not altered in any way for your benefit. The installer changed the furnace settings to a cooler setting as per the manufacturer's instructions to a 54-degree F heat rise over the heat exchanger. The range is 40-70 degrees F so the middle of the range, this information is on the Fortis BC commissioning sheet that I sent a copy of to you. I'm not sure of the fresh air you are referring to, but the hot water tank and your old furnace required fresh air for combustion. The new furnace does not, but the hot water tank still does so that can't be blocked off. Your furnace performance is as per manufacturers specs as the commissioning sheet shows. We understand it is difficult sometimes when a change in equipment occurs but the benefits of replacing an older inefficient furnace with a new efficient furnace will become apparent in your billing.     I pay the balance but when doing so I was complaining to the person who gave me the quote and set up the install, about air leaking and he told me there was none. It wasn't until after viewing you tube/internet suggesting the use of a lighter to find/see where the air is leaking at the furnace cabinet, which I did. And there was so much air leaking that it actually blew out the lighter. It was then that I returned to the office and complained of the air/heat loss at the cabinet, several times. Plus, emails and phone calls trying to get JC Fireplaces to rectify the problem. Just because I paid does not mean you cannot honor the agreement and address the complaint I must say this up until the actual install, I was very happy with the service provided And because I'm a trusting soul I paid the balance, never but ever expecting to be treated the way I was. Having to call the manufacturer and getting a third party to actually assess the work. In the end It was resolved, but I do feel I should have not been put through the ringer to resolve the problem.
