      I have been a customer of ******************** Invest Direct for almost 10 years, and after years of dissatisfaction I reached the end of my patience. Invest Direct transfers securities and money from one account to another via "Securities Transfer Form". It should be signed by the account owner, but the bank also wants to speak with the owner and confirm everything. The process is long and extremely painful. I sent the Forms in December, but the transfer still has not happened by mid-February. It takes 2-3 weeks for the bank to read an e-mail with the Form, then the bank does several mistakes in the transfer and calls us to see how they can be reversed. When I call InvestDirect, a customer rep cannot give me an answer on what is happening with the transfer. Every time I speak with a different customer rep, but most of them are not informed well, give me wrong info and speak poor English. Will withdraw our SD RSP and RIFs from InvestDirect - too much negative emotions involved.

      Don't trust HSBC's Promotions HSCB Canada had a high rate saving account (HRSA) new deposits promotion last Sep promise to give 1.7% on top of their 0.5% for 3 months. I've been their premier account customer for 20+ years and mostly in ****. I moved back to BC Canada 8 years ago and the nightmare started. Most of their staff have an attitude that customers are nothing but trouble for them. I thought things were improving last year when I was assigned a new account manager. She was very helpful and I started to move my cash to HSBC from another bank. Since I deposited some funds in August, I called my Premier account manager on Aug 22 and see if those qualify for the higher rate. She said it has to be new money from another bank and recommended me to use those funds to buy GIC which I did. On Aug 27, I transfer from RBC $400K to my HRSA. 4 months later, I found out that they didn't give me any higher rates as stated. I asked online why I didn't get those rate, the person said it could be technical problem. After a couple of weeks, I called the account manager and took her another couple of weeks to inform me that I wasn't qualified. She said buying GIC is considered as a withdrawal from the HRSA. The 1 page term sheet I when clicked into their online promotion never mentioned that at all. After a few complaints to some third parties, another staff called me and said the full document which I never received have mentioned on another page. ***** **** **** ***** **** ***** ***** ********** ** **** *** ****** ******* ******** ** ******* Stay away from this bank if you don't want unpleasant days! I guess under the guidance of Larry T**** and Andrew M******** in Ontario, customers service are not one of their priorities. (Too bad I cannot attach the term sheet here.)

      Their 'formal complaint process'? I've wasted more than 4 hours of my time messaging and talking to more than 4 of their staff with their manager knowing what has happened. If they still need us to go through their 'formal complaint process', they are telling us what they REALLY think of as CUSTOMER SERVICE! They just didn't realized that there are other banks out there! To their Canadian management, good luck!

      The bank manager literally denied me making an appointment to open an account stating that he needs to know my exact reasons for opening an account. I told him to do banking he said he still is denying me service. **** * ***** ** ** ** ******** ********* ** ** ********* **** ** ***** ***** ** *** *** ******** ********* **** *** **** ******** ** **** ***** ** ** ********  I am beyond furious if you ever do banking here at the maple ridge branch know that these people are extremely unprofessional. I have never filed a complaint with a bank in my life. I have video proof I am sending it to the BBB, media, and *******

      * **** ** *** **** ***** ***** **** ***** ****** ******** ****** ** ** ***** *** ****. ******* ****** ** ****** ************* ****** ********* *** ***** **** ** ** *** ** **** *** I recently received an chain email from this bank, inviting me to apply for their credit card, to which I responded by making an online application. Upon completion of the application, HSBC notified me that they would like me to take my IDs (including my passport) to a local branch, where the bank associates may be able to verify my identity. So I made an appointment with a local branch and a few days later visited the branch and met with an associate at their Richmond Hill, Ontario location at Major Mack and Bayview ave. I presented my Identifications to the bank associate and asked him to explain why a mundane process of making an application for a credit card was so complicated The associate (I have name and correspondence on file) explained to me that since my name "does not sound ***** *****" and that the "place of birth on my passport is ****", the bank has reservations to "extend credit" to me! Upon hearing that explanation, I withdrew my application . In my ** years in Canada, I had never imagined that a bank operating on my soil Canada, would engage in such overt act of ****** ********* ******* ********* ********* and feel that this incident must be reported ** * ** ******* **** * ** *** *** **** *** ****** *** ** **** **** **** ****** ******* ****** ******** *
