My **** and I contacted **** ****** with Attic Experts of Kentuckiana to evaluate our attic in March, 2022. ****** never even looked in the attic when he came to our home but since we had other companies bid the project that did look at the attic we went with Attic Experts because the work proposed was about the same. In addition to the work listed on the contract, I told ****** that I wanted baffles installed between the upper and lower attics. He agreed and said there would be no additional charge. He said to tell the workers what we wanted done when they showed up to do the job. To me that would be ******' responsibility but nevertheless agreed to do so. I purchased the baffles and had them at my home for the workers to use when they arrived. I also told him I would repair all drywall after I inspected their work. I was out of town when the workers showed up to do the job. My **** said two men showed up; one possibly named ***** seemed to be in charge but he spoke little English. She instructed ***** about the additional baffles to install and they got started on the job. My **** said they tried to collect payment for the job before they even got started. I arrived home some hours later when the men were finishing up. ***** said the job was complete and tried to collect payment, but I declined until after my inspection. I inspected and found that the workers had only installed about 3 upper baffles (out of approximately 50) and out of 4 baffles I looked at that were installed in the eaves, 2 were not done right. I called ****** and complained that we were told the job was complete and if I had not inspected they would have gotten away with the fraud. He said the workers found it too hard to install the upper baffles and did not have the right tool to install the lowers properly. The same men returned a few days later to complete/correct but my **** said they appeared hostile and she did not feel safe. I told her to have them leave, which they did.
