I started Sullivan in Sept 2020 for my bachelors. In March of 2021 my fiancée was hit by a drunk driver and was in the hospital at U of L Trauma Center. i let my teachers know what was going on and they were extremely helpful, they offered to give me extensions. i finished out the quarter. I had made the decision to withdraw from school because with everything that was going on in my personal life with him not being able to walk and losing an income and myself being the only provider taking care of him and 3 kids. I had called Charlie at Sullivan numerous times, with no success of reaching her, so i could let her know that i needed to withdraw from school. I finally left a message with another lady that i needed to withdraw shortly after that Charlie called and asked me what was going on so i gave her the story of what was all going on. She told me that if i was ever in a position to come back and wanted to all i needed to do was give her a call. She said she would send me a withdraw form to my email, which i never received. A couple weeks after i talked to Charlie i received a call from someone else asking if i wanted to return in Sept of '21, i explained again everything that had gone on in my personal life with my fiancée and that i wasnt ready to come back because i wouldnt be able to give it my full attention. Then on 7/8/21 i get an email that says my FAFSA for 2021-2022 has been successfully completed. Then on 7/22/21 i receive a call from Amanda from Accounts Resolutions asking me if i could take care of the $4,800 + debt i had with Sullivan. i told her no because i shouldnt have a debt. She had mentioned Financial Aide and i told her that i never got any money from Financial Aide and she said "oh i know the funds were returned" i then said ok well then why do i owe you $4800 if you got your money back? She said because in your handbook it says you have to withdraw within the first week of the new quarter in order to not be charged full price for that quarter. But i was told when i withdrew that it was withdraw by the 4th week. So out of all the people that called me asking me to come back nobody EVER mentioned a balance! When i was telling Charlie that i was withdrawing i asked her if everything was good and she said yes everything is fine just let me know when you are ready to come back. I told Amanda at the accounts resolution department that i was going to talk to charlie to ask her what happened and Amanda informed me that nobody at Sullivan would be allowed to talk to me. i told her that i would try anyways because someone there along the way dropped the ball. i asked her about the FAFSA form why it said it was completed and she said she didnt know. I said ok well then someone needs to explain to me why it says a FAFSA was completed on my behalf when i was not the one that did it. I have never been so disappointed with the way a school handles situations. And have never heard of a more money hungry school! I had heard horror stories about Sullivan but i had never had any personal problems with them until now! I guess sullivan expects you to schedule life changing traumatic events around the first week of a new quarter. like i said i am the only provider in my home now due to his accident. they do not care about your education they literally ONLY care about money! save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for a college to attend!
