            I have been a victim of identity theft and unable to contact lowermybills.com. Someone entered my information and leads were sent from this website/business to multiple mortgage lenders around the country. I am unable to request delete or do not sell my information as not a resident of California (on their website). They are unresponsive.

            The website claims to have a mortgage calculator, but instead uses this as an unethical guise to collect information and sell it to third parties. There is no calculation. Be honest about who you are and what you're doing.

            Good Afternoon Mr. ***** We're sorry to hear that you had a less than positive experience with the website. LowerMyBills does advertise as an online information resource and consumer matching site. The website invites consumers to provide self-reported product and service interest, along with a consent to be matched. Additionally, the site does have a mortgage calculator. The calculator clearly indicates that there are many factors that go into assessing a mortgage rate, including credit, other outstanding obligations, home value, etc. So, the calculator is an estimation only. The language there continues, noting that consumers would have the opportunity to discuss that estimate, or presently available rates for qualified applicants, at the point at which they are matched. Of course, we're always looking for ways to make the messaging clearer and more helpful. We'll continue to assess that.
