BBB Serving Northern Colorado & Wyoming

Envision has been providing services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities or delays in Weld County since 1964. Envision provides early intervention services to children from birth to three years of age; 45% of which catch up to their peers and do not require a specialized preschool program. In addition to early intervention services, Envision all provides a youth Summer Respite Camp, Adult Residential Service, Family Care-Giver and Day Programs, and Supported Employment Services.

Character

Executive director Celeste Ewert has established a robust system of meetings, surveys, and communication to ensure she and her leadership team are hearing frequently from all stakeholders about their experience with Envision. This includes 1-1 meetings with employees and an annual survey to all employees and providers (most of whom are independent contractors). Celeste also sits in on department meetings at least once a month to both provide information from leadership as well as listen in to what is going on in each department. This is all part of the leadership’s focus on being able to empathize with employees, made easier by the fact that most of the leadership, including Celeste, has been with Envision for 10 years or more and have worked their way up from frontline positions.

Culture

Envision has established itself as a Person Centered Organization, which means the organization prioritizes the individual and their needs and preferences in the delivery of services. This applies to employees, clients, and independent contractors. Managers work with PCO coaches to learn the ways that their reports prefer to be managed, best ways to communicate, and best ways to provide recognition and support. Employees then carry that same attitude to working with Envision’s clients, seeking to understand what makes the difference between a good day and a bad day for each individual.

Customers

Envision has no “one size fits all” service as a Person Centered Organization, so all services and support is highly personalized to each individual client. In Early Intervention, Quality Improvement Outcomes are conducted regularly to ensure that families are receiving what they are entitled to under the law, and that everyone involved has a reasonable expectation of the process and what is possible. Envision also takes a proactive approach to working with families, recognizing their role as passionate advocates for their loved ones, but also making sure that the client’s wishes come first and foremost and that everyone understands what Envision is capable of offering to the client.

Community

As a direct service provider to a community often in need of assistance in many areas, Envision works closely with many nonprofits, government agencies, and other service providers in Weld County, to help with issues like housing, food insecurity, health care, education, and employment. Celeste and the leadership team are involved on numerous boards of organizations in Weld County in those areas. At Envisions annual In My Shoes 5K fundraiser, vendors are invited to set up booths to share resources and information about the services they provide.
