Business Development Consultant

BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming (located in Fort Collins, CO) is looking for a Business Development Consultant who will make outbound calls  to business owners to invite them to apply for BBB Accreditation and offer advertising opportunities.

Job requirements include: 

  • Follow BBB Code of Ethical Sales Conduct and proven phone script and be an Ambassador of the BBB by representing it professionally and effectively at all times
  • Grow BBB Accredited Business base by canvassing all sources for potential prospects, conducting cold calls and responding to direct inquiries
  • Conduct due diligence in establishing eligibility for accreditation, an honor earned by businesses
  • Maintain accurate and up to date journal notes on all business communications
  • Grow advertising by selling to the newly accredited businesses
  • Meet personal budgeted sales targets as agreed upon
  • Attend BBB sales meetings and other meetings as required
  • Undertake other sales related duties as required

  • Possess the ability to effectively manage time and establish priorities
  • Inside sales experience with the demonstrated ability to close the sale of an intangible product
  • Basic sales training and techniques, particularly with respect to cold calling
  • Demonstrated ability to source leads using both conventional and non-conventional tools
  • Ability to use both closed questioning and listening skills in order to understand business owners problems, concerns, and needs
  • Confident and patient with a positive and determined attitude for success
  • Honest, ethical and sincere selling approach
  • Tenacious, tolerant of stress with an ability to handle rejection
  • Thorough with keen attention to detail
  • Innovative and creative with respect to researching and gathering new prospects
  • Proficient with the use of the computer and software applications and familiarity of web-based CRMs(Customer Relationship Management)
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of current business market activities

Pay Structure

  • Base Pay plus commission plus bonuses
  • Uncapped commission package
  • Unlimited income potential
  • Average starting range for first year $45k - $70k
