Better Business Bureau’s 24th Golf Classic was held on Wednesday, September 29th.
Each Year we Honor a Business person in our Marketplace. This year it was our own recently retired President and CEO, Jim Winsett!
2021 Business Honoree, Jim Winsett, Retired BBB CEO just this last May. Jim has provided outstanding leadership as CEO of BBB serving Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia for the last 17 years and launched numerous programs that have had substantial impact on our community.
As Board Chair Mike Webb has stated, “Jim has been the flagbearer of honesty and integrity in our regional marketplace. With Jim’s retirement, he will be leaving an exceptional legacy that will challenge all of us to strive for high standards in our lives and businesses.” We are all extremely grateful for Jim’s unwavering commitment to promoting BBB’s services and programs and wish him a very happy retirement.
In addition to playing golf on a beautiful course, the BBB Golf Classic is a great opportunity to forget COVID-19; social distance with other businesses, entertain customers, and make new acquaintances, and meet potential new customers.
The Golfers had opportunities to win prizes in competition. Again this year the Golfers had an opportunity to win Hole-In-One prizes at each 3 par hole including an Automobile Hole-in-One contest. Also, we again had the popular Hit the Windshield contest sponsored by ABRA Auto Body & Glass. We had great food and drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The annual BBB golf tournament is designated as its single money raising event of the year. Its purpose is to maintain a non-dues related income that is used for reserve operating funds in difficult financial circumstances and to further enhance a improve consumer and business education and prevention of fraud and scam activities in the marketplace.
