Fighting Financial Fraud

The Fighting Financial Fraud program consists of three presentations aimed at educating the public about common scams and schemes that target a person’s finances. Each presentation runs about 1 hour in length and includes time for Q and A with the audience. The Better Business Bureau® is available to provide each presentation in person or online through Zoom. All presentations are available free of charge, but donations to the BBB Educational Foundation are welcome.

Scammers use highly effective tactics to target and influence victims. You encounter these tactics all the time. How can you know when it’s a scam and  when it is safe? This program will help you learn to recognize these “red flags” so you can protect yourself and your loved ones from financial fraud.

Do you think you can effectively spot a con? Con artists are master chameleons-shifting and changing their playbook to steal your hard-earned money. This game will test your knowledge of common scams and give you the tools to avoid becoming the conman's next victim.

Even if you have never been subjected to an investment fraudster’s sales pitch, you probably know someone who has. The truth is we’re all at risk. But you can help protect your future by recognizing how scammers operate. This presentation gives you the tools to safeguard your investments and your nest egg.
