BBB Serving Northern Indiana's Charitable & Educational Foundation

Our Mission: BBB Serving Northern Indiana’s Charitable & Educational Foundation is a recognized 501c(3) charity with the mission of providing education to both consumers and business leaders with the goal of advancing a reliable, dependable and ethical marketplace for all.
BBB offers assistance, instruction, training and counseling to the public with respect to consumer affairs, as well as best practices for businesses in a wide variety of topics. All with the goal of ensuring a fair experience for everyone.
Charity Review
BBB’s Charity Review provides the public with information on specific charities and wise giving practices and also advises charities on how to meet and maintain high ethical standards of operation.
Education/Seminars

BBB Serving Northern Indiana can provide seminars on a wide range of subjects, including identity theft and senior scam avoidance.

Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics

BBB’s Premiere awards program, the Torch Awards annually recognize businesses, charities and individuals that “do it right,” by honoring integrity, fairness and ethical business practices. 

Students of Integrity

The Charitable and Educational Foundation also sponsors BBB’s annual Students of Integrity scholarships to high school and college students embodying integrity. The foundation has awarded more than $125,000 as of 2020.

Scam Awareness and Avoidance

Central to BBB’s mission, we work with consumers and businesses to learn how to recognize scams and the ways to avoid them. Read our weekly Consumer Advocate column, listen to our Scam of the Week radio segments and catch our Wise Wednesday video every week on social media.

Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana

BBB has partnered with JA of Northern Indiana with a storefront in its JA BizTown, a stop for thousands of middle and high school students learning about budgeting, finance and investing. The BBB storefront offers them a chance to search for Accredited Businesses, check ratings and other interactions with BBB.org.

Shred Day

Did you know: 56% percent of identity theft victims traced the theft to something that was stolen from their own possession?

Each year BBB hosts multiple FREE Shred Day events. These events offer the community a no-cost way to ensure the safety of their sensitive documents. Any sponsorships and monetary donations collected through the event are used to keep future events free for the public.

Our next Shred Day event is taking place on April 22nd at the War Memorial Coliseum's parking lot.

Belmont Beverage Golf Outing

The annual Belmont Beverage Golf Outing benefits the BBB's Charitable & Educational Foundation and the Olson ALS Foundation. Held at Chestnut Hills, the day features golf, food and fundraising. Donors can play in the outing, sponsor a hole or donate an item to the silent auction. 

Silent auction sponsors include Cincinnati Reds, Sweet Aviation, Let's Roam and more!
