Why Am I on Auto-Pilot When It Comes to Airport Parking?

Brian West, Park-N-Go Airport Parking

Most of us spend hours planning a business trip or vacation, obsessing over the usual minutia of flights, hotels and amenities, tours and restaurants to visit, but our parking choice is one that requires as much thought as the rest of the trip. Considering personal safety, convenience, cost and protecting a valuable asset – our vehicle – the answer can be a simple one.

Being a savvy traveler, I know that any trip starts and ends at the parking lot, and making the right choice is as important as any of the other elements of a journey. Starting with, “where should I park?” my decision can be made even easier by asking:

  • Is the parking lot open and fully staffed 24 hours every day? Are lights and cameras available?
  • What if my flight is delayed?
  • Does the parking facility offer 24-hour emergency assistance if I have a dead battery or flat tires?
  • Will my car be ready and comfortable for me when I return from my trip? A snow-covered cold car in the winter or an overheated car in the summer may not be what I want to face when I return.
  • Am I paying a premium price to park for lackluster service at the airport?
  • Will I need assistance with luggage, golf clubs, or other items while tending to business or my children?
  • Can I use AAA, corporate or other specially-negotiated rates?
  • Can I have my vehicle serviced or detailed while I’m away?

Risking my personal safety or that of my family and vehicle with a parking facility that may not staff fully is an important consideration. Damage, theft, and long wait times could result. By doing my research, I can make an informed choice which can pay big dividends in comfort, safety and convenience.
