Frequently asked questions
Question: Who can be nominated?
Answer: The nominated student must be a member of the current graduating class and attend a public, private, or online school located in Stark County Ohio.
Question: Who can nominate a student for the scholarship?
Answer: Nominations can only be made by an employee of the same school district the student attends or the person must be directly affiliated with the school such as a coach, bus driver, substitute teacher, etc. Nominations cannot be made by family members, friends, neighbors, etc.
Question: Where can I submit my nomination?
Answer: All submissions must be made on the Google nomination form
Question: How many times can I nominate a student?
Answer: Only one student can be nominated per nominee, but students can receive more than one nomination.
Question: When does the nomination period end?
Answer: December 1st of each nomination year. The committee will then have time to select the winners from all the nominations and be ready to award the scholarships at the banquet.
Question: How do we receive the scholarship money?
Answer: Each student will be recognized at a banquet in the early Spring of each year and receive a certificate from the BBB & Pro Football Hall of Fame. The actual check will be mailed to the bursar’s office of the University, College, or institution where they will continue their education.
Question: Who selects the winners?
Answer: The winners will be selected by a committee formed to review the nominations. Committee members will be made up of representatives of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Better Business Bureau Canton.
Question: How much does each scholarship winner receive?
Answer: Each winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship to be used to further their education.
Question: How many years is the award good for?
Answer: The scholarship is a one-time award of $2,500.
