BBB of Akron: Ethics in Action Modules

Below is a list of modules in the Ethics in Action program. Each module is a 50-minute exercise but can be shortened or extended based on your groups’ specific needs.

Everyday Ethics

Helps Students:

  • Understand their choices make a difference

  • Develop to their full potential

  • Relate to others with increasing understanding, skill and respect

  • Develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making

  • Contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills and cooperation with others

Online Safety & Cyberbullying

Helps Students:

  • Learn the dangers of the internet

  • Learn about being safe and responsible online.

  • Identify types of personal information

  • Understand the impact of their “online reputation”

  • Identify appropriate people for communication

  • Learn how to protect themselves from inappropriate Internet behavior

  • Become aware of choices made and consequences beyond social networks, texting and emails.

  • Identify types of cyberbullying

  • Learn how to address and respond to an online bully

  • Learn tips on how to deal with, keep from becoming and stop a cyberbully.

Financial Literacy - I'm on my own, now what?

Helps Students:

  • Understand what credit is

  • Learn how ethics play a role in a promise to pay

  • Learn how to use credit wisely

  • Plan, Budget and Save-Developing a spending strategy

  • Learn how to avoid identity theft
