At Home Senior Services is an in-home care agency dedicated to fostering independence in seniors. Founded in 2007 by Mary Jo Dietrich RN-BSN and her husband David Dietrich PhD, At Home Senior Services is an independently operated agency with over 20 years of experience in the health care community. With Mary Jo and David’s combined knowledge of the senior care industry and keen business sense, they have been able to help over 1,600 families in the Pittsburgh area.
“We are honored and humbled to have been chosen as a Finalist for the prestigious Torch Award for Ethics,” says David Dietrich PhD, President of At Home Senior Services. “We have always done business as my father and mother ran their businesses, by treating everyone like you would like to be treated, the Golden Rule.”
According to Torch Award judge, Akwasi Opoku-Dakwa, “I was impressed with the examples At Home Senior Services provided of how they train employees to respond to customer needs, communicate proactively with customers and also how they took ownership when mistakes happened.”
“Leading by example and emphasizing ‘integrity, empathy and transparency’ are solid foundations for the ethical culture of At Home Senior Services,” says Torch Award judge, Jim Weber. “Empowering staff through ethics training builds on that foundation toward ethical behavior. The company’s vision and mission statement is an important key for all of the business’s stakeholders to learn of their ethical culture.”
