Welcome to the Better Business Bureau Serving Metropolitan New York’s Resources page for National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) 2026 - an annual event created by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
This year's web page spotlights the latest insights about consumer fraud issues and provides tips on how to stay safer. Metro New York BBB has joined forces with the FTC and other Federal, State, and City government agencies, as well as a nonprofit organization, to present this resource page focused on issues relevant to consumers in the Metro New York area.
The resources below include videos from collaborating organizations, describing notable current scams; BBB's ScamTracker (SM) resource; infographics ranking the Metro New York area scams and business complaints that consumers reported to BBB most often in 2025; and other helpful information.
