The annual BBB Torch Award for Ethics recognizes organizations that embody the four C's:
- Character- The tone the leader sets for the organization.
- Culture- How the organization provides trust through empowering employees, purpose, and opportunities to grow.
- Customers- How the organization practices builiding relationships with consumers.
- Community- How the organization makes an impact with the local community.
Eligibility to submit an application:
- BBB Accreditation is not required
- Businesses applicants must have a “B” rating or better with BBB
- Applicants must be headquartered in Maryland
- Businesses located in the following counties in Maryland are not eligible: Prince George's, Montgomery, St. Mary's, Calvert and Charles (those counties are in the service area of the DC BBB)
- Organizations must have been in business for a minimum of three years
- Applicants are not eligible if they have received the Torch Award in the past five years
- Government agencies and non-profit organizations are not eligible to submit an application.
Categories: Businesses who are entering the Torch Awards for Ethics will be judged in categories by the number of employees the business has.
- 1-10 employees
- 11-25 employees
- 26-99 employees
- 100+ employees
