May 2022 my husband purchase a 2009 ******** **** from this dealer for approximately $52,000. The truck was advertised with a rebuilt engine from a ** dealer and when he attended to view the unit was shown the invoices to support this. There were many delays in why the truck would not be ready at the agreed upon date/time. Almost 1.5 after the agreed to pickup date the unit was ready. My spouse inspected what he could before leaving their dealership. When he arrived home he noted many issues ans communicated them with Davy. There was no resolve. Almost all systems on the unit were leaking or cracked so therefore needed to be updated in order to prevent an on the road repair. Jumping forward to just around Christmas we were advised by ******* dealership that our engine serial number is NOT the factory engine or the engine serial number that is linked to our VIN #. This engine is from a 2010 ** **** and therefore the ECM is programmed to that ESN. Our truck is not a ** ****. Also this is the same engine but the manufacturer date is 1.5/2years after our original so again things will be slightly different. The ECM plays a vital role in how our engine/emissions system operates. Anyways after dumping another $50,000 into this truck we have learnt that it needs yet another rebuild with only ArOund 320,000km on the one it had we were given invoices to support. Davy’s also FAILED to advise us that this unit was a repossession from ********** finance and infact he advised my spouse that it was bought from the auction. If this information would have been given upfront this risk would have been too significant to accept and we wouldn’t have acquired the unit. Also the location doing their safety’s is questionable given the engine not belonging to the truck and the tech not advising on this during safety. I have contacted carrier safety enforcement and they are looking into this issue. I have yet to decide how I will proceed *** ***** ******** ******** ** *******.
