On 10/15/2023 our shower drain was clogged. While trying to unstop it a leak in the crawl space came to our attention. We called **** Howells Septic (lic#**-062). They arrived at 7:30 that evening. Evaluated the issue, cleared the clog and caused a second leak in the process. They had no tools on their truck. They had to use our screwdrivers and drill. When they left 2 hours later the drain was still leaking and they tried to get us to pay $200. They said $65 of that was for clearing the drain. The adult male sent a juvenile in to try to collect from us. They were to come back on Monday morning to finish the job. Our floor were a mess and carpet had to be cleaned because adult male wore dirty muck boots in our house. Adult male and another man came on Monday. Messed around some more. Used silicone caulk to fix what they said was the problem. They were to return on Tuesday to check that leak was corrected. When we checked drain on Tuesday it was still leaking. Called them and told them that drain was still leaking. Told them we would pay for drain being cleared ($75) but nothing else since the leak was not repaired. They arrived at our house at 6:00 p.m. today and presented a bill for $355.00. Told them we would not pay that amount since leak not repaired. Said we would pay only for drain clearing. The Howells representative told us they would place a lien on our home for non payment. We said we would pay only for completed work, which was clearing the drain.
