      I have been a time share owner with them for almost 20 years, and I also own time share with other companies. I know the customer experience in the industry and what they do. Raintree is really bad and aggressive, trying to skim all the money that can from you. My last conflict with them relates to my 2022 maintenance fee. The original amount was $1,423 and the due date was 1/28/22. When paying today online (one month and 10 days past due) the amount that wanted to charge me was $180 more than the original amount. That's right, 17% surcharge for a month and 10 days delay. Outrageous, abusive and usurious. After calling them, that wanted to refer me to their collection third party agency. When I refused with the argument that it was only a month and something late (not 180 days in arreas) they escalated the issue to a supervisor, who after hard tactics from his part, and mine, accepted to wave the entire surcharge. Bottom line, they do not charge honest penalties, then they do not negotiate honestly, and eventually they give up. They want to play you. Very dishonest. My advise, if you can avoid doing business with them, do it.

      We bought our first week in March of 1998 and another week aprox. 2 years later. We paid cash and our inital yearly fee was $1200.00 and now it is $1756.OO per year. We have no issues for over 21 years. However starting in 2019 and continuing to this date the company has not been able to honor our requests for occupancy. Always telling us they are sold out. They even suggested we try a year in advance which we got the same results. We are not able to sell our 2 weeks or even give them away. Consequently the company is threating us with a judgement. All we want is what we paid for and cannot reserve weeks as promised. We have not paid our assement for 2022 and have no plans to as long as the company cannot provide accomdations has promised.

      I got a call months ago offering a 5 night getaway to San Jose Del Cabo from someone at SQN Escapes. I said we have no interest in time shares, and do not want anything to do with the 90 minute presentation that is normally comes with this type of deal. I was assured we would not be required to speak with anyone regarding the purchase of anything. Upon checking in last week to Raintree Club Regina in San Jose Del Cabo, we were asked what time we would like our breakfast, and I said I was not interested. She said "if we did not attend the breakfast, then we would have to pay full price for the 5 day stay, which was around $1700." We were exhausted from travel and basically had no choice but to be taken hostage. I guess this works for them? The breakfast the next day was followed by looking at the units, and then finally sitting with the first sales person. They said it was SQN Escapes fault we had to sit through the 90 minute ordeal since they were the ones that lied to us, and oh btw the 90 minutes started then. Long story short the first day of our getaway was totally shot. Here's the email from SQN Escapes: "This promotion is in no way intended as, nor may it be construed as an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy timeshare, lodging rights or any other product or service or as an inducement of any kind in connection therewith. Use of this certi?cate is in no way conditioned upon attending any sales presentation or receiving any other sales or marketing solicitation. SQN Escapes selling this Certi?cate and is solely responsible for the content and ful?llment of the services comprised within this Certi?cate. SQN Escapes is a completely independent and separate company from the operator/owner of GlobalTravel.com and the resort." The business practices of both companies are the perfect definition of deception. I would like to add that the actual workers at the resort, at the pool, bar, wait staff, room cleaners, cart drivers, etc were extremely nice and polite and gave excellent service. My complaint is only with the time share staff.

      Total scam. They sign you up with your deposit, then if you want to cancel it within the cancellation window they lie, dodge, and avoid you. When reached on the phone multiple sales/member services employees basically threatened me if I canceled. One even made me an offer to cancel ONLY IF they kept the deposit. Avoid Raintree resorts and sales pitches like the black plague. THE WORST.

      This company charges high maintenance fees but does nothing to maintain many properties. They have oversold and you can’t get in to use your points. Maintenance fees go up every year with nothing to show for them. They misinform customers continuously
