Tonight when I came down the stairs at the Montrose houston Katz’s Deli location (where the owner of this company, M Allen works as security), my best friend who was sitting on the bench was being video recorded and laughed at by the security guard (and employees?) at the host stand. My best friend is autistic and has sensory issues. He “stims” by clicking his teeth and twirling/popping his fingers, often with his eyes closed, especially in loud social situations. When I politely and calmly confronted the security guard (M. Allen, of Allen & Allen Security) about this video and asked if this was for his personal or professional use and asked him to please delete it, he immediately suggested that my friend would be *arrested* if we did not leave immediately. Upon immediately insisting that he delete the non-consensual video he took of my friend who is autistic and can not control his stimming behaviors, the manager walked up (Stephen I believe? White, 20-30something, short light hair) and eventually agreed with me and told the security guard to delete the video after I explained the situation. Security obliged, but problem remained. The security guard had an iPhone, and as anyone with an iPhone is aware, you can retrieve deleted videos from the recently deleted folder.
