Hawaii’s 2016 BBB Torch Awards Winners Announced

Honolulu, HI – April 14, 2016: Tuesday, April 12th, over 350 people came together to celebrate the top businesses and non-profits in the community at this year’s Hawaii’s Better Business Bureau Torch Awards. Businesses were nominated and finalists selected in four different categories, small, medium, large, and non-profits.

All Torch Award finalists demonstrate exceedingly high standards of behavior toward customers, employees and shareholders, adhere to truthful advertising and sales practices, and have a reputation for noteworthy contributions in their industry and community.

The 2016 BBB Torch Awards go to:

  • Large Business – Hagadone Hawaii
  • Medium Business – Bob Tanaka, Inc. Realtors
  • Small Business – Government Employee Benefits Institute
  • Non-Profit – Friends of Iolani Palace

The keynote speaker, Dave Bossert, producer and creative director at the Walt Disney Animation Studios, treated the audience to a private viewing of the Dali & Disney film Destino and spoke on the importance trust and ethics play in business innovation today. After the event there was an opportunity to meet with Bossert at a book signing for his book Dali & Disney: Destino.

Prior to the awards ceremony a luncheon was held in the Weyand Room of the Hawaii Theatre and Art at Mark’s Garage, directly across the street. The luncheon was catered by Gourmet Lani Indian Kitchen and The Baker & Butcher.
