**CAUTION ** Do anything you can to STAY AWAY from University Palms. Apartments do not feel safe. There are many domestic abuse fights and threats heard every night. The property manager tried to move myself and my roommates out of our (3br) apartment (2 months into our lease) into a smaller apartment so they could rent out our apartment to a larger family. When we respectfully declined they threatened to evict us (over false noise complaints) if we didn't comply. When we said okay since we had no other option, it turned out they no longer needed our apartment since the other family backed out and suddenly they no longer needed to "evict" us and never mentioned any noise complaints again. Finally when we moved out after our lease and cleaned the place up, we never got our $2,000 deposit back. We had to take the owners to court twice, pay over $300 in legal fees and wait over a year to finally get our deposit back. The property manager is psychotic, the owners are flat out crooks, and the apartments themselves are infested with cockroaches. Do what ever you can to stay far far away form University Palms.

Mr. *****, I am sorry you feel this way, we did reach an agreement on your security deposits and we held up our end of the request. You request all of the deposit to be paid back in full and an extra $ 500.00 made out to you to cover any fees. Again I am sorry you feel this way.

It is unclear to me exactly how much sorrow you feel towards this incident. As I clearly stated in my review, you did in fact return our $2,000.00 dollar deposit. This of course was AFTER we served you with court papers and yet we still had to wait over a year (while going through a pandemic) to get our well deserved deposits back. So excuse me for not understanding or accepting your misconstrued apology. Its amusing to me that your response is not even addressing the year long situation and inconvenience you brought upon 4 college students, but instead just my distaste on the situation as if everything I said is not entirely true. Further more, MY request was that we receive punitive damage pay which you declined over 4 times so let me rephrase your statement for you. We did not “come to an agreement” in which you then “held up your end of the request,” In fact, we never reached an agreement we were satisfied with even though I tried very hard to work with you and was incredibly flexible. You refused to accept my request for punitive damages and instead had your property manager pressure me into accepting YOUR request by both bullying and coercing me into accepting an agreement that does absolutely no justice to the appalling situation we occurred because of the way you run your company. So, simply put, it was the absolute least you could have done for us. So, I'm sorry you feel this way, however after all your misguided attempted to pass blame, rather than accept any wrong doing, I stand by my review and would advise against any individual doing business with this corrupt company.
