This was our first time owning a home and hiring a company to manage our property. We hired HappyDoors Property Management and worked with them for 4 years, however none of those years were pleasant. From the beginning, we did not receive the services we elected for and constantly had to follow up with them to ensure they were taken care of. Initially, they forgot to complete our GE tax filings even though we were paying for their premium services. After every tenant they would send us a huge bill of repairs and we would have to reference their own lease agreement for them to charge the right party accordingly. After a tenant had moved out, they provided us a list of suggested repairs/modifications and one of them was to remove the ** mount; we declined that modification. Later, we found that the ** mount was removed and a horrible patch job was conducted on the wall. Thankfully, there was an email trail to prove that we didnt authorize them to remove it. During another tenants tenure, the refrigerator stopped working and the maintenance team called us and advised that we find our own handyman to fix it since they didnt have one available. Although, we found our own handyman to fix, we felt that HappyDoors should have been the ones to take care of all of this. Amongst all that, it was very difficult to get in touch with the property manager assigned to us. When reaching out, the customer service representatives would say that theyre in a meeting or out on the field and would return our call by the end of the day but would never do so. Since the assigned property manager is the only person that is in charge of our property no one else can help, so we would receive resolutions weeks to months after the issue occurred. From beginning to end, HappyDoors needed constant reminder of their own policies and procedures. The customer service from both representatives and managers were subpar and do not uphold the standards that they promise.
