Somehow, I fail to realize that the hate and prejudice that is being released so frequent in ******* does not exclude ******. We moved from the mainland about 4 months ago. Everyone that we have had to deal with since we got here were just wonderful! We spoke so often of how kind, considerate, helpful and nice everybody was over here. I guess I assumed that a place where there are multitudes races everywhere would not have been poisoned by the hate that is shown so freely on the mainland. Well, I was totally wrong! I experienced it firsthand January 3, 2023, at Korean ****************** located at *************************************************************************************. After we entered the store and bought a few things, we decided to have lunch at the lunch counter in the store. My wife paid for the items she had pick up and we sat down and had lunch. I got up to find the ice cream section. Paid for it and sat down again. After everybody was done eating, we started shopping. I didnt know that I had to stay close my wife while shopping. Me, my wife, and daughter had just loaded our shopping cart with fruits and vegetables heading to check out. I moved ahead to check out the pears and apples when a tall man approached me saying Can I help you? Before I could answer, with a hand gesture he said, Please leave the store. I am black and my wife is Korean. However, she or my daughter were about ***** feet behind me. Just happen that I was the only black person in the store. He gave me no reason for telling me to leave. My family were shocked and furious and told him that we were all together and he was being very rude. He gave a slight nod and left. My *************** emptied the shopping cart and decided not to buy anything else. We left disappointed because we thought we found a good Korean store to shop. Except for prejudging a black person in the store and asking them to leave the store without any reason tells me that the rotten hearts and minds are over here as well. So sad!!!

Being an ethnic store, we are all to aware of the challenges minorities face in *******.To keep things brief, race had nothing to do with what had happened. It was actually the circumstances surrounding your location in the store that initially triggered the interaction. Due to COVID protocols, we currently implement a no loitering policy in our store and once our personnel realized you were not loitering and with your family, they acknowledged the misunderstanding and left. That being said, we try our best to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our customers. The fact that you felt this way tells me that we failed in that regard and we need to do better. We would like to offer our sincere apology and hope that you will give us another chance. If you would be willing to accept, we would also like to offer a small token of appreciation for having visited us and in hopes that you will do so again.
