to whom it may concern, yesterday 5/3/2022 I was terminated from my part time position at Paradise Pet Resort, The reason for my firing was that I have been complaining, about the way the owner does business, From the start, which was 7/2021 for me, Most mornings we were short staffed, which meant the dogs suffered, This last Sunday for example 6 dogs werent given their evening meals, Proper cleaning doesnt happen for the simple reason, there arent enough people to do the work. I was bit on several occasions, dogs are not accessed for behavior, before they're brought back. Probably six times all together, he finally instituted a training program, this February, but I couldnt take the Bite training, due to the fact, nobody could take the training because there was never enough help to cover. After my retirement in 2016, I volunteered at the ************** of ******* for six years, where I was trained in dog walking and behavior, after Covid hit all volunteering was called off, So in July of 2021, I was looking to do something with dogs. Restrictions eased, so I took a part time position, at Paradise Pet Resort, as a dog handler, I thought Id be working with professionals, but, the only people he hired were kids looking for their first job, No dog professionals, But my love for dogs superseeded any other concerns I had at the time, at first I took care of the *******, even there, I was bit by a English bull dog, he mauled me when I tried to separate him from another dog he decided to pick on, I had several bites all over my body, nobody knew how to help me, none of the kids had any training, this happened on six occasions trying to break up dog fights. He hired kids for the most part, for some it was their first job. They were good kids dont get me wrong, they hadnt had any work experience, or training of any kind, call offs were frequent, on Monday the place shouldn't be in business
