The first Tuesday after Thanksgiving is recognized as a global day of giving and generosity. #GivingTuesday kicks into gear just after Black Friday & Cyber Monday when many are focusing on holiday shopping and end-of-year donations.
Raising a baby and building a business are two separate full-time jobs. But, more and more parent entrepreneurs are pulling double-duty, sometimes balancing both within the confines of a home office. Thankfully, The Cube CoWork offers workspace to conduct business in peace with an on-site, fun-loving babysitter just steps away.
See how Maryland's first coworking space with babysitting services is making an impact:
Meet Aneka Winstead! Aneka has a fulltime job, works part time for her and her husband’s business, Tax and Accounting Services, and has three children ages 4 months to 9 years-old. Aneka has been using The Cube Cowork since it opened a year ago for 4-6 hours a week. She has doubled her client base since she started at The Cube due to her increased uninterrupted work time. Aneka was very distracted at home, but with all 3 of her kids in the same place she is able to focus. Her kids love to play at The Cube, and are exhausted when they get home. She also utilizes the space for client workshops and meetings. “The Cube is much more economical than renting a space of my own and putting the kids in daycare,” Aneka said.
Anna Grace started her business, Anna Grace Photography, 5 years ago working full time. Once her daughter was born, she began to work at home. Anna was able to get her work done when her baby was sleeping or rocking in her rocking chair. As her daughter grew older, it became harder for Anna to find time to work productively. She now goes to The Cube Cowork 3 days a week. She is able to get her work done, and pop in to see her daughter whenever she wants. “The Grandmother is amazing with the kids,” Anna said. “It’s the perfect solution for working moms with their own business.”
Meet Catherine Knorr! Catherine has been working remotely part time for Pershing Technologies since her 3 kids were born. With her sporadic schedule, she found it hard to find childcare. Catherine started at The Cube 2 months ago working for a few hours a week. Her productivity has increased due to having reliable, uninterrupted work time. “I am definitely happier since starting at The Cube because my kids are happy here,” Catherine said. “I have time to get my work done.”
