My son rented a trombone from the school return it where he received the instrument at school. They continued to charge us for several months although the instrument was returned. I called the company already 10 times trying to get this figured out and we still have gotten anywhere. The company does this to take your money secretly. They claim you need a slip saying the instrument needs to be returned but no slips are given out to parents. That’s what they continue to repeat. Never any email updates on instrument rentals were sent either so they stay quiet while they have your credit card information to charge you monthly. Be aware of this company and how sneaky they are with their so called policies and rules. Their customer service department doesn’t follow up with open cases and are hard to get ahold of also.Review from Jill F

They have a bait and switch process and do not honor their contracts. After getting told clearly on two separate calls that all of our equity on a rental would go to purchase an instrument, upon going to purchase said instrument we were told that only the first 24 months counted (which is not referenced on contract nor what was shared on phone) and then when in store we were also told that it only counts for student instruments (also not what we were told on phone nor is that stated in contract). Our last two conversations have been completely different and we've been told we are 'reading the contract wrong' and that it's misleading and it's supposed to say that but it doesn't. So apparently it's my fault that they wrote the contract poorly and won't live up to its actual wording. Considering getting a lawyer since we only stayed with them to build up equity and to get the discount - which apparently are no longer good. Ridiculous scam.Review from Laura N

Unauthorized/fraudulent charges to our credit card. Learn from our situation and watch out for what I can only describe as a scam. Our daughter joined her school band and we entered a Rent-to-Own agreement with Music and Arts on 9/29/2021. They were the exclusive provider of rental services through the elementary school program. We signed a contract for 18 months, at which point we would own the instrument for a total cost of $599.99. However, it has been more than 26 months now and we have been charged over $1,000. We have been in contact with Music and Arts for six months via phone calls and e-mails with no results. They are trying to claim we traded in the instrument for an upgrade, which triggered a new agreement, and that we will be charged until 2025 to pay for the exchange, which will be over $1,300 in total. This information is incorrect. The initial instrument that was provided to us was not in good working condition. Its screws kept falling out, causing the instrument to malfunction and disassemble frequently. The instrument was brought to the store for repair. The employee at the store made the decision to replace the inoperable instrument with a functional one, since we had LDW insurance as part of the agreement. There was no request for a replacement or an upgrade. There was no awareness that the new instrument was any different than the old instrument, other than it was operational. At no time did we agree or authorize to modify the Rent-to-Own agreement or to enter into a new agreement. Again, the instrument was brought to the store to be repaired. The employee chose to exchange the instrument. The employee chose the new instrument for replacement. Through the school program, there is no additional cost to the renter and does not modify the rent-to-own agreement. However, Music and Arts continues to charge our credit card, even though there is no authorization for these charges. Stay far, far, away from Music and Arts.Review from Mike Y

This is an unethic store with a group of shaddy people who do unethic business practice and they are specialized on bait and switch. Their only objective is to rob your money under that table hopefully without your notice. I dont' know the whole Music&Art chain, but there are a group of unethic people working in this particular store (631 N Main St Suite 107, Alpharetta, GA 30009) and carrying out unethic business practice. Their goal is to screw you as soon as you walk in by secretely putting you into a monthly charge program once you found it out, they will deny their crime completely and faked execuses. I ended up calling my credit card company for a charge dispute, after months' back and forth between credit card company and Music&Arts, Music&Arts agreed to credit me back the $148 they illegally charged me and I got a letter about that from my credit company. Yeah, in 1/2024, they secretely charged the same card again. What an unethic store and despicable group of people! Do NOT GO There!!!Review from Jessica C

Cannot get in touch with anyone via phone or email. No one will return calls answer calls or return emails. I have been trying to return an instrument for months and was unsure how to do so. Of course there is no problem charging my card every month but can't seem to have anybody answer phones or reply to emails. Zero customer service.Review from Grace S

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SCAM OPERATION!!!!!! 0 effing stars! We had to cancel our credit card because they keep charging it AFTER paying over $900 for a snare/bells kit. This was our first foray into musical instrument ownership for our daughter, so we knew we'd probably overpay for the kit since we weren't entirely sure if she would be into it and we would be keeping the kit. We went into the store in Concord NC in person to settle the remainder of the bill. We asked what was still owed and it was around $50 or so. We asked them multiple times if that was it. We were told "I think so" by an unhelpful meat sack. Now, here we are a couple months or so later and they have sent us to collections for $153. WTAF!?!?!?!? Getting involved with this sham company is akin to paying protection money to the mob. Now we get to try and fight the collection agency. Avoid this company like the plague. You're better off buying musical instruments behind the ****** * from the folks that steal catalytic converters.Review from Viktoriya Z

Overcharged by the company that is not abiding by the contract. Terrible customer service experience. After renting a drum set for a year, I got a letter with promotion for the next year. I called a few weeks after the promotion expired, and was assured that the promotion will still be granted with no issues. Lady by the name Erica took my updated CC information back in July over the phone, confirmed new yearly rent with a Transaction Authorization number, and provided instructions on how to return the instrument and when the year expires. Recently (November) I found out that Music and Arts has been charging me monthly instead, which I explicitly discussed not doing with Erica. Customer Service rep Raphael was surprised, as the Transaction Authorization number corresponds to monthly billing, and he also said that Erica had no authority to override the promotion deadline and promise me a yearly contract. I was put on a manager call-back list after requesting to speak with a manager multiple times throughout the conversation. I also told Raphael that I am revoking my authorization to charge my CC, to which he said "ok, but we will still charge it". When I asked to remove it from the account, he said "we cannot do that". No call back from the manager. Next day I called Music and Arts back, and another lady affirmed that a manager will be calling "today". That was 2 days ago. Every call to Music and Arts results in 20+ minutes hold, followed by occasional disconnect. I am still being overcharged.Review from Vicki C

Do not use this company. They have the worst customer service. They didn't pay our rental off when instructed, wouldn't return phone calls and continued to charge monthly fees. This company cost me hundreds in extra fees. Do not use them. They also charged me for a product that wasn't received for over 10 months and only refunded money after I told them I felt like they were fraudulent.
