    The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

    On April 19, 2022, the business entered into a settlement with Maryland Attorney General Office. The action settles allegations that the business that Koons Kia charged consumers hidden fees not included in its advertised prices, and it collected fees for shipping their vehicles (known as "freight charges") from consumers, although the shipping cost was already included in the advertised price of the vehicle. Under terms of the settlement, the business agreed to stop charging car purchasers fees, other than taxes or title
    fees, if the fees were not included in the advertised price for a vehicle.

    The dealership also agreed not to charge consumers for shipping if such freight charges were already included in any advertised price for the vehicle. The company also agreed to return all fees it collected from
    consumers other than taxes and title fees that were not included in the advertised price of the
    vehicle, as well as all amounts it collected for freight charges that were already included in the advertised price of the vehicle. The Attorney General estimates that, as a result of the settlement, more than $1 million will be returned to consumers. Koons Kia also agreed to pay the Division $100,000 for its costs incurred in investigating the matter.

    Consumers who are owed refunds under the settlement do not need to do anything; they
    will be contacted directly by the Consumer Protection Division.

    I purchased my *** 2022 Telluride on July 16, 2022. *** stated that they give military discounts in the amount of ****** to military personnel. The sales agent and I filled out the paperwork for the discount to be applied towards the coast of the vehicle. Upon final paperwork and payment I was told that I would have to pay the additional ****** out of my pocket and that I would be reimburse. I have made several attempts reaching out to the *** of Koons Kia of Owings Mills ***********************************, Owings Mills, ** ***** and customer service and I'm still getting the run around.All I'm asking for, is what is due to me and that is the ******.

    Customer service is definitely NOT a priority with this dealership. I had to get my engine worked on. I was promised a loaner but when I went to drop my car off, there was no loaner available. I had to get a rental, which made me an hour late to work. They called me the next morning and requested to keep my car an additional day. I had to extend my car rental. When I went to pick up my car the next morning, it was not ready. I had to drop off my rental and come back. This time I was over an hour late to work. Promised they would email me my paperwork. That was over TWO WEEKS ago! I have tried to call the general manager every day and left voicemails but NO RETURN CALLS and still NO PAPERWORK! This is an engine/warranty issue so naturally they are making things as difficult as possible. It is aggravating, unproffessional, discourteous and just total bullsh*t in general. I can't say anything good at this point. I just needed to warn anyone that is thinking about purchasing a KIA to think twice. Between the multiple recalls and the extremely poor customer care, I would suggest you NOT buy a KIA EVER!
