Get Charity Seal

While there is no cost to charities for the BBB to conduct a review and issue a report, the BBB logo is a registered trademark and there are limitations to its use. In that regard, the BBB does offer charities an optional charity seal program for charities interested in affiliating with the BBB and using the local for promotional purposes. Charities are required to meet all BBB standards in order to be eligible which then allows charities to display the BBB accredited charity seal logo on websites and in solicitation materials. Additional details are as follows:

  • The Wise Giving Alliance has offered national charities that meet the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability the option of applying for a BBB national charity seal since 2003
  • The seal can be displayed on agency web sites and in solicitation materials and other communications to provide the public with a clear, concise, and easily recognizable symbol that the charity adheres to the BBB’s strong and comprehensive accountability standards
  • The program is optional and participating agencies are required to sign a license agreement and pay an annual fee
  • Our program mirrors the national model and provides local charities with a way to distinguish their operations and assure donors that their organizations are operating responsibly
  • As with the national program, our charity seal will be available only to organizations that have been evaluated and meet all 20 standards
  • There are additional details about charity seal membership, and a listing of national charity seal agencies, on the WGA website at
