My Grandparents 87 and 84 years old purchased a Home Envy bath installation from the Home Depot store ***** in ******, Illinois on 3/14/2022. The contract states that the estimated start date of 8/15/2022 and completion by 9/12/2022. Home Envy called once during the summer to inform my grandparents that their project would be started soon and they were waiting on a couple of items. Then did not reach out again. My grandfather called in October, someone told him that they would be out first week of November and finished by Thanksgiving. No one showed up. My grandparents have rightly lost faith in this contractor after being treated as they had been. No communication/updates, and no-show on the job.
Home Envy told me that they could cancel the project but I should expect to pay restocking fees. He continued to say that they have no contractors in Illinois at this time because their previous installer got sick and is not working now. Then when asked about the November appointment where no one showed up, he essentially called my grandparents liars and said "I don't have in my notes that I said we would be there the first week of November" and " I said we may be able to get it done in November". It is very convenient for this guy to work with elderly who do not have email. All of his empty promises can be said on the phone with no paper trail.
The bottom line is this, as a company you have a responsibility to only sell work you can complete. It is not my problem that your staff got sick or you do not have enough staff to complete projects in a timely manner.
Home Envy should be covering fees for these poor business practices.
It is now 12/30/2022, the project has not been started.
Home Envy did say that they would try and start our project in January, however, we do not want them doing the job. What happens when they tear up the bathroom and another contractor leaves? My Grandparents have to drive somewhere to shower and use the bathroom in the winter?Review from Everett M

My wife is 77, I am 76. We wanted a walk in show for safety reasons. We when to Home Depot in Seymour, In.. They directed us to Home Envy. We signed a contract on November 18 of 2021. We paid almost $6,000.00 as a down payment. We still have had no work started. They now want us to pay the remaining balance before they will do any work. That would be another almost $6,000.00.HomeEnvy/Bath Envy Response

We are sorry you see things this way. As always, there are two sides to every story. Our staff at Home Envy is working tirelessly to combat the material and labor shortages we have been faced with. With that said, we tried to schedule your job a couple of months ago and you refused us coming in. This stalled your project even further, as you insisted on working with Home Depot directly, instead of us as your installer. You refused to pay the restocking fees to cancel the project, when that option was given to you. As for paying everything up front, this is a Home Depot policy. You purchased through Home Depot and not through us directly. We abide by all policies and procedures, as a provider for them. As we have been, all correspondence will be going through their corporate office. We do not typically respond to complaints, as they are always a very one-sided perception of reality. We made an exception, in this case. However, this will be our only public response to this matter. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have further concerns. Thank you for your feedback.Review from Timothy T

Read these reviews. Same story of delays, stalling, and unprofessional conduct. Someone needs to do something about these kinds of corrupt business practices. I have been stalled by Lisa as well and have tried to contact Home Depot. This is really a bad situation and no one should rely on Home/ Bath Envy for any project.Review from Tonya K.

Extremely unprofessional. They do nothing but lie. I was told 10 weeks for my bathroom remodel, it is currently going on a little over 9 months. My sales guy didn't put my order in until 2 months after i signed, which was when my install should've been scheduled. When i called inquiring about my remodel no one bothered to tell me it was just put in, instead they all lied stating there was no update. At one point I called and mentioned that I was using 2 vice grips and my shower in constantly leaking, the lady I spoke with told me if my shower goes out before they remodel for me to get a gym membership to take a shower. She told me this on multiple occasions. I have been inconvenienced on several occasions, I've canceled important family events only to have home envy cancel/reschedule last mintue. During my install the contractor was 3hrs late, causing me to lose an entire day of work and pay for no reason. He arrived late every day, disappeared, left early, and I even found him laying in my front yard for everyone to see for over an hour. Due to the materials I ordered being wrong, the contractor had to order new materials and schedule another time to come back and finish my bathroom. A month later I was scheduled to finish my bathroom, I cancelled my plans of attending a friend's wedding only to have the contractor cancel last minute and that was after I was the one that reached out to him to find out what time he was planning on showing up. This has been the worst experience I've ever had and I truly regret going with this company.Review from Bryan D

I ordered a bathroom remodel with Home Depot on May 19, 2021. Home Depot gave the contract to My Home Envy. Contractors for My Home Envy came to my house to make measurements and provide an actual cost of the remodel. The cost came to $10,225. My Home Envy gave me an estimated start date of August 25, 2021 with an Approximate Finish date of September 8, 2021. On August 5th of 2021, I received a phone call from the My Home Envy Illinois Manager, Joyce ******* stating that the estimated start date would be delayed because of parts that were ordered, have not been delivered. There was no new estimated start date. I was told that I would get a call once a month to let me know the progress of the delivery of the parts. In October, I had not received any phone calls like I was promised. I called My Home Envy phone number which I was provided in my contract from Home Depot and talked with Lisa. I told her what was going on and she stated that she would get someone to call me and let me know what's going on. I heard nothing for the next month and called Lisa again, and again, she stated she would get someone to call me back with information. In the beginning of February, 2022, I called Lisa again and said that I have not heard anything and Lisa stated that she would get Joyce to get in contact with me. Joyce called that evening and said they are still waiting for parts. I asked why she was never calling me back once a month like I was promised and she flat out lied and said she had been calling me. I called the Home Depot customer care and opened up a case number (XXXXXXXX) to get this completed. After Home Depot told me there was nothing they could do, I decided to try to get my money back. I was told by Home Depot that I would lose 30% of what I paid for the remodel. The reason is because of some of the parts that My Home Envy did receive. Out of the $10,225, I received back $7,200.
