Complaints from Max Novelty customers allege that the business does not inform the consumer of the correct shipping time periods. The complainants also indicated that tracking information for orders placed online shows that the items are shipping from China, and not the business’ purported address in Rhode Island.Max Novelty appears to have a pattern of complaint concerning delays in shipping, unresponsive customer service, and lack of communication with customers. BBB sent multiple written notices via email and postal mail to Max Novelty regarding their complaints and return policy, and requested the business’s location(s) and contact method for consumers with issues. All of these options are a good way to look for red flags.”Make sure you know your rights when shopping online. Federal law requires that orders made by mail, phone or online be shipped by the date promised or, if no delivery time was stated, within 30 days. If the goods aren’t shipped on time, the shopper can cancel and demand a refund. There is no general three-day cancellation right, but consumers do have the right to reject merchandise if it’s defective or was misrepresented. Otherwise, it’s the business’ policies that determine if the shopper can cancel the purchase and receive a refund or credit. For more BBB tips on shopping online, click here, and for more information you can trust, visit bbb.org.
