The Torch Awards for Ethics honours companies whose leaders demonstrate a high level of personal character, ensuring that the organization’s practices meet the highest standards of ethics, and consequently generate trust. These companies generate a high level of trust among their employees, customers and their communities. The award embodies BBB’s mission of advancing marketplace trust. The Torch Awards is open to all for-profit and non-profit organizations physically located within the Atlantic Provinces, and we are seeking nominations from the community at large. Our 2018 awards program takes place in three stages:1. Nomination | Organizations are nominated by members of the public across Atlantic Canada. Nominations can be made by customers, employees, owners, or simply people who want to see a great organization recognized. Nominations will close May 31, 2018, and the nomination form can be found here.2. Initial Entry | Nominated organizations will be invited to complete the initial entry form (on or before June 15, 2018), through which they'll provide our selection panel with information about the ethical practices of their leaders and organization. The entry form will only take a short time to complete, but will provide our judges with enough information to select a shortlist of five organizations in each category (see below). 3. Finalist Entry | Finalist entry takes place by invitation only. 20 shortlisted organizations (five in each category) will be invited to complete and submit a full entry. The judges will then select one winner in each category to be recognized at our awards event in fall 2018.What is the criteria? The Torch Awards for Ethics selection committee judges entries using the framework of the Six Principles of TRUST! (Transformation at the Top, Reinforce and Build, Unite the Team, Steer Performance, Treasure People, Enthusiastically Give Back).
