DENVER, COLORADO – BBB serving Denver/Boulder is issuing a warning against the online retailer Free Earth Trading Company following a pattern of consumer complaints alleging issues with the business’s product, customer service, delivery, and refund/exchange policy.Since November 26, 2017, consumers have submitted 52 complaints against Free Earth Trading Company with BBB serving Denver/Boulder. The business has not provided a response to any of these complaints, despite BBB’s requests. The business has also received 36 consumer reviews, all of which are classified as “negative.” The most frequent consumer complaints regard orders for an “ultra-cozy knitted blanket,” a blanket made of thick yarn that is advertised in five different colors and three sizes. Complainants allege that the company takes weeks to deliver the product (if at all), and those who received their orders claim that the blanket is of poor or damaged quality and does not resemble the product photographed online. Complainants who requested refunds received responses citing the company’s 14-day return policy, which many argued is irrelevant to customers whose orders took weeks to arrive and whose messages the company ignored for days.Customers of the site have also created a Facebook page titled “Free Earth Trading Co complaints,” in response to reports that the business removes negative comments from its official Facebook page. The complaint page includes photographs displaying the poor quality of orders received, as well as advice on how disappointed customers may report their experiences. Free Earth Trading Company’s whereabouts are unknown. The terms of service on the company’s website claim the site is operated by an entity named Outdoor Eden, further specifying that “throughout the site, the terms ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to Outdoor Eden.” BBB was unable to identify a business address or corporate registration for either business name, and the company does not offer any additional information online. Its website is registered in Toronto, Canada. Some complainants expressed frustration that the only contact information the website offers is an email address (firstname.lastname@example.org). BBB reached out to the company through this email address on January 18 but has yet to receive a response. BBB encourages consumers to visit Free Earth Trading Company’s BBB Business Profile to view or submit complaints and reviews of the company.
