BBB Mississippi is warning local businesses to beware of a Kentucky marketing company, Prestige Marketing LLC that is selling advertising opportunities for the Mississippi Braves and radio station 105.9 FM The Zone. BBB received an email from a Mississippi Braves official informing BBB that a marketing company was selling advertising for the upcoming season’s schedule, that also included free radio spots on 105.9 FM The Zone. One problem, nobody from either company has given Prestige Marketing permission to sell advertising on their behalf. A BBB Mississippi investigator is working with BBB Cincinnati to reach out to Prestige Marketing to get answers. “We are concerned that local business may have bought an advertising package from this company and will not get what they paid for.” says John O’Hara CEO Better Business Bureau serving Mississippi. “We had a similar issue in Meridian MS regarding a company selling advertising to restaurants without the restaurants permission.” BBB is encouraging businesses to contact BBB serving Mississippi if they have signed up for or been approached by Prestige Marketing to advertise with either the MS Braves or 105.9 FM The Zone, as neither company uses a third party marketer.“BBB encourages businesses and consumers to make sure they know who they are doing business with, and check them out.” O’Hara says “We are glad the Mississippi Braves made us aware of the company. Businesses are consumers too and we encourage them use our resources to get information on who they are doing business with”.
