Better Business Bureau® (BBB) of the Upstate SC is alerting consumers about an office supply company called F.S.N, Inc. allegedly operating from mail centers in the Greenville area. Several businesses have received phone calls from this office supply company informing them of a “great deal” on discounted supplies. After agreeing to purchase a small amount of supplies, the consumers receive several large boxes with more supplies than they ordered. An invoice later comes in the mail for thousands of dollars. The consumers attempted to reach F.S.N. by phone and were unable to speak with a live person. After reaching out to F.S.N., BBB was given an email address; in which office staff connected to an All States Office Supply in Deerfield Beach, Florida. After contacting the CEO of All States Office Supply, she informed the BBB they had no ties with F.S.N., but later in the call stated she would reach out to the owner to resolve the complaint.Once the BBB became involved, F.S.N. responded to the consumers by providing pre-paid return mailing labels for the boxes. Tracking information confirmed that the packages were in transit to Greenville and re-routed to Deerfield Beach, FL. BBB attempted to follow-up with both F.S.N. and All States Office Supply to find out why the packages were redirected and have yet to receive a return call.BBB offers tips on ordering office supplies:Inspect invoices, bank statements and phone bills. Do not pay for products or services you’re not sure you ordered. Keep a list of the companies you use for various services and flag any charges that come from companies not on the list. Ask for proof of orders before paying for anything you don’t remember ordering.Research unfamiliar companies. If you get a call or solicitation from an unknown company, check bbb.org or contact your local consumer protection agency or state Attorney General. Also, search online for the company name along with words like “complaint” or “reviews” to see what other consumer have had to say. Get the offer in writing. Always ask for the details of an offer in writing. Office Supply companies often quote a per-item price while they sell multiple-item packages – this can be very confusing over the phone and may lead to unknowingly ordering large quantities of supplies not need.
