Better Business Bureau® (BBB) of the Upstate SC is alerting consumers about a business located in Simpsonville called Carolina Septic/Stinky’s Septic. BBB has reached out to the company by telephone, email and postal mail in regards to consumer complaints but has not received a response.Consumers are alleging they hired Carolina Septic/Stinky’s Septic to pump their septic tanks. However, upon completion of the job, consumers are finding that the tanks are only partially emptied. Consumers have reached out to the owner of the company in search of follow-up service or a refund, but have not received either form of compensation. Some consumers have even called upon other industry professionals to complete the job and were informed that Carolina Septic did not perform the initial service properly.“It is quite distressing to a customer when a company that owes them merchandise, services or a refund doesn’t follow through,” said Vee Daniel, president/CEO of BBB of the Upstate. “And it is especially distressing to discover that a job a consumer has paid for in full was not completed properly.”BBB encouraged Carolina Septic to follow through on the recent commitments the company has made and to resolve any open complaints. The owner stated to BBB that he would respond to complaints in June, but we have yet to hear from him since then and consumers still have not received refunds or follow-up correspondence from the company. If issues are not resolved, BBB encourages consumers who have paid Carolina Septic and have outstanding work that has not been completed to submit a complaint through the BBB.org and South Carolina Consumer Affairs.Additionally, BBB encourages all consumers to research all businesses they plan on shopping with by visiting http://go.bbb.org/upstatesc and to follow BBB on Facebook at Better Business Bureau Upstate SC for news and tips about scams.
