CHICAGO –Four Chicago-area business leaders were elected to the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois at the organization’s October board meeting. Better Business Bureau board members are responsible for overseeing the direction of the organization and its strategies, as well as conferring with the executives responsible for day-to-day operations of the BBB.The four business people elected to the BBB Board of Directors are:Alison Laffe, senior vice president of advertising and marketing for the Chicago Sun Times.Jeff Orduno, general counsel and chief operating officer for Urban Equity Properties, LLC.Robert Richmond, founder and chief executive officer of The LISA App.Andy Wells, president and owner of Normandy Construction Co.“We are very pleased to have people with the skills and abilities of these outstanding business people join our board,” said Steve J. Previously, Alison was at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. She has over 16 years of sales and marketing experience. At the Journal Sentinel, she led every area of the advertising division including sales, operations, training and business development.Jeff Orduno serves as general counsel and chief operating officer for Urban Equity Properties, LLC, Rockford, Ill. and its related entities. The Urban Equity group of companies has completed over a dozen historic redevelopment projects. In addition, the business owns and manages several more properties in the Rockford and Chicago markets. Jeff joined Urban Equity in 2015 after a decade in private legal practice. Robert Richmond is founder and chief executive officer of The LISA App, Deerfield, Ill.
