DENVER, COLORADO—BBB serving Denver/Boulder is proud to have donated 64 iPads to Pinnacle Charter School in Federal Heights earlier this November. For a video in which Director of Special Programs Suzann Bacon Taylor describes the program, click here. Pinnacle Charter School has participated in BBB’s LIFT Ethics Certification Program since the fall of 2015. Pinnacle was one of the first LIFT participants, and has since delivered the curriculum to 186 of its middle school students. The donated iPads will help Pinnacle expand its capacity to bring LIFT, as well as other future programs, to its students. The LIFT curriculum teaches students to consider and apply ethical decision making in both their current and future endeavors. The program grew out of BBB’s desire to focus on the pressing need for an honest, ethical future workforce. This focus extends BBB’s work of cultivating integrity and transparency in today’s marketplace. LIFT is designed for middle school and high school students. Through community partners such as Pinnacle, the LIFT Certification is offered to individual students who complete all aspects of the LIFT program, demonstrate knowledge of ethical standards for the workplace, and have signed the LIFT Commitment to Conduct applied towards their school, work, and personal life. Upon entering the workforce, LIFT students can show current or prospective employers that they completed the course and are committed to upholding a high standard of ethics. Educators who wish to get involved in the LIFT program may contact Sarah Klinkowski at SKlinikowski@denver.bbb.org discuss volunteer opportunities.
