The Basement Doctor of Cincinnati; Continental Roof Company, LLC; Brighton Center; and A Child’s Hope International were all acknowledged as honorees.The event boasted over 230 attendees, all of whom were enlightened on “The Value of Values: Why We Should Care About Ethics” by Professor Paul Fiorelli of Xavier University and the Cintas Institute for Business Ethics. During his entertaining presentation on incorporating ethics into daily practice, Fiorelli outlined the key tactics ethical decision-makers use to determine the right direction.“We really admire the passion and drive these organizations displayed when applying for the 2017 Torch Awards,” said Corrie McGlothlin, Program Director of BBB Center for Ethics in Cincinnati. “It takes real dedication to center an organization around ethics - as Professor Fiorelli indicated - and we’re always excited to recognize those that do so.”BBB Center for Ethics applauds the winners and honorees of the Torch Awards, and President/CEO of BBB Cincinnati, Jocile Ehrlich, said she believed the community can benefit from the support of programs like these. “There is a real sense of togetherness in Cincinnati that events like the Torch Awards really highlight. It’s nice to see such a number of our local institutions come together to commemorate the success of some of their own.”The Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics is an annual event and is open to all businesses and nonprofits in the Greater Cincinnati area.
