We've had the displeasure of using *** for our project. DO NOT pay this man until you are done the job and satisfied with the outcome. Better yet, save yourself the hardship and hire someone else. He will take your money, not finish the job, not respond to text messages, not return phone calls and worse yet he does not stand by his OWN WORK. We paid *** to complete a gas test and fix deficiencies. He charged us in excess of 20 hours to fix all/any deficiencies and then refused to sign the gas permit acknowledging that he completed the gas pressure test stating that he didn't feel comfortable in doing so. You don't feel comfortable standing by your own work?? *** will demand upfront payment or else he will not come complete the job, then you pay him because you are desperate to get the job done and then he no shows leaving you hanging.

      West Coast Mechanical Corp Response

      08/11/2022

Hello ********, I am disheartened at this review. You reached out Friday November 05,2022 at 1:19pm Todays date is Monday November 7,2022. I was not able to return the phone call until Monday when we were open again. However Monday morning going through text messages you sent some not so pleasant messages over the weekend. Which I responded by text with a explanation on why I missed your call. As well as offering a refund in regards to the fireplace (at your personal house) you sent a photo of the little amount of sooting ( which is normal to an extent). Which was the only issue brought to my knowledge. Which I would gladly came out and helped with until the demeaning text that you sent me on Sunday evening. As for the gas inspection you are right I would not sign off on that house as the gas lines ran by others ( not me ) where not rightly installed and leaking air at every fitting , just as all the plumbing is done wrong a not to code at all. I did bring this to everyones attention and it was said no big deal not changing it now. I spent a lot more than 20 hours there fixing these issues. Which is fine however when I learnt you guys cut the barrel lock on the gas supply to use free gas Is when I made the decision to not return. As I do not want to be involved with the fact that someone who is not the gas supplier/surveyor in your area cut that lock. As for leaving anyone hanging all that was ever said was I can book it in for a when our schedule allowed us to get back there. The only choice give was come tomorrow (no specific day just what was said times to me) I mentioned I cant the next day and would need to book it in.

Hello ***, To address your attempt to save face, yes, I text you on November 5th which was well past the end of October promise you gave to my husband which also text you on October 26th but you did not reply - not surprised. You responded on Nov 7 because I posted a ****** review. To add fuel, we paid you for this particular job in Feb 2022. So waiting 8 months for you to fix your deficiency which made my fireplace unusable and caused permanent damage does not seem unreasonable to me at all. The sooting you refer to is NOT normal because if it was normal you would not have asked us to not use the fireplace until you came to make the adjustments just like you did with our other fireplace that had a similar issue when you arranged the rocks. Your phone is your cell. I text you my email address while you were standing in my kitchen and you confirmed you received it. Although not during your "business hours" I have received a text from you on a Saturday requesting an e-transfer be made to your email address. So I guess you have selective business hours. My text message to you was the straw that broke the camel's back after MULTIPLE no shows to scheduled appointments, no replies to phone calls or text messages not for my fireplace but for the project house we contracted you for. As per signing off on a gas inspection, it was not a gas inspection that was requested to be signed off on. It was the gas pressure test which needed to be signed by the journeyman that performed the gas pressure test - which was you. You had no problem accepting payment for this in addition to taking on 20 hours of work to fix any deficiencies. We needed the permit signed to get gas to the house which contradicts your "free gas statement". The house was purchased from the County and the home was abandoned and squatted in prior to us initiating renos to the property. You have been working on that job site since April 2022. You have been paid in full for your work and have given us your word that you would come back to finish but you are constantly making excuses, not returning calls or text messages from any of the contractors that are relying on you to get your job done so they can do theirs. Your unreliability has caused major delays on our project and we have had to hire other contractors to complete or re-do things we have already paid you to do. Your statement of us saying you have no choice but to come tomorrow is completely fabricated considering your scope of work was laid out for you 7 months ago. I'd be cautious of posting a fabricated responses that can so easily be debunked by us posting our text message exchanges - or lack of on your part. You referred to my text message to you as "not so pleasant and demeaning" so I thought I would share it... I believe I was being gentle considering how unreliable and inconsistent you are.Friday Nov 5 at 1:12 pm :Hi ***. Its ******** from 70 ***. **** had told me that you were coming by the end October to fix the fireplace logs. Can you swing by today?. I would like to use it but it is bad.Saturday 10:52 am: Hello???Sunday 6:39 pm: Very good business practice ***. Love how you respond to your clients after they pay you for your s****y work.Monday 8:49 am from ***: Good morning ********. I am very sorry I missed you. So we are open Monday to Thursday 8:30-4:30pm and friday 8:30-4 pm for non emergency calls And bookings on this line. We have a separate emergency/office number for any emergencies I do not check this phone regularly after hours. I do believe I mentioned this to **** a few months back. Last Friday I had to head to llyodminster area for a emergency car wash rebuild. I had very little service and was there until late last night Sunday evening. I do apologize you feel this way. There was never an appointment made. It was discussed to come out and I mentioned I was three weeks out for bookings and it was asked if the next day worked. We are now booking into the second week of December at this point. I would have had no issue making an appointment and looking at the fireplace. However from the last text my work is not to your standards so What I will do is issue I cheque is the amount of $165.00 plus gst 5% equals $173.25. This is to cover our standard fireplace service fee. So you can find someone that better fits your needs. ******** For the reimbursement who would I make the payment out to? Or I can just send a e-transfer if that is your preference?Hi ***. Thx for your well thought out response. Your 940 number IS your business number which I text during business hours (Friday Nov 4 at at 1:12 PM) as per your text. That is the number listed on your website. No alternative number is listed. However that being said we were given ********* number at one time in which we called and she answered with a Hello?? And was quite shocked/confused that we called her number and asked us to call you at your number - so back to the 940. You are correct. No appointment was made as we both know you do not show up to your scheduled appointments. That being said you assured **** that you will come by the end of October at the latest. Although not an emergency by any means, fixing your deficiencies should be a priority to you especially when your deficiency caused permanent damage to my fireplace and has made it unusable since last year. We have been more than patient with you. As per reimbursement, that is not what I am looking for nor did I ask for that. We have always been fair to you. Have paid you every last ***** multiple times and you leave us needing to hire others to fix/complete the jobs you leave undone. Very shameful of you considering we spoke so highly of you in the past. I witnessed your phone call with my husband when he told you should I be worried if I pay you in full that you are not going to s**** me and not show up? You assured him that that will not be the case. Well here we are today! I guess only one of us stands by our word and its not you.
