    Mr Handyman of Edmonton West did work for me over 5 days - April 26 to 30 - totaling 27 hours by my calculation. These include 3 hours when the technician said he had to go buy materials. The materials used were: half a sheet of gyproc, 3 quarts and 1 gallon of **** paint, mudding, tape, sandpaper/block, consumable paint brushes, rollers and trays, drop sheeting and ceiling stippling. The technician requested that I settle the invoice! When I asked for a paper invoice, I was told that it was not possible until I settled the payment. I refused to settle . He left and said the owner would get in touch with me. I then received and invoice by email followed by a phone call from the owner. The invoice, attached, contained no detail. When I asked for a more detailed invoice of hours worked with rate per hour and materials purchased. I was told that was not possible. When I suggested going to BBB, I was threatened. I settled and now request an explanation of charges and a billing adjustment

    Had the technician stop by to give a quote to adjust a door latch understanding there is a fee for an estimate which was quoted at $ 319.00 but then turned into a quick easy 10 minute fix. No adjustment to the estimate and learned a lesson. Do not hire this company especially if you are a senior citizen. Like a mechanic saying he might have to replace the engine then finding a loose wire but still charging the estimate. Trying a resolve led nowhere. Buyer beware indeed.

    Good morning, I still don't understand the problem. Before we came to your home we told you about our assessment fee if you did not proceed which is $59. If you went ahead with the estimate there was no assessment charge. You agreed. We came to your home, gave you a written estimate, and after your review you signed the estimate. We did the work as discussed and professionally. The invoice reflected your signed estimate. To answer your comment to me, that we should have shown you how to repair it yourself for free, doesn't fit the Mr Handyman business model. So we did everything we said we would and you agreed to. No issues with anything but lack of respect for the professional who came to your door.

    I disagree with the comments from contractor. If an estimate turns out to be a five minute quick fix you don't charge anyone 318.00$ and expect satisfaction.A reputable company would have adjusted the estimate when he realized it was an easy fix and not something that was discussed prior to authorizing the work. Was a blatant rip off of a senior. And never expectations of anything for free. But a fee of 318.00$$ for that would have sent him on the way but was already paying for the call out.
